Fairplay to Sturm if this is true. He's done the right thing here. Although I think mack won the fight, sturm showed he is a league above him in the second half. So should win the second one.

Sturm will probably KO him this time around. He'll be better prepared for Macklin.

He won the first fight but Sturm is still the guy who will lose based on his mind. He is bigger and more explosive than Macklin. He just needs to let them hands go.

I hope Macklin stays busy, keeps pummelling Sturms guard but stays true to the body. That right hook was vicious, bruised Sturms side but Macklin should stay downstairs ALOT.

the rematch should be in britain to stop another favourable german decision or at least somewhere neutral, i reckon even if he wins again if its only a small margin the german will get the decision again!

    Fantastic news! :good

Hope the fight is just as good as the first one, he'll be in with another great shot to grab the title although you do get the feeling that Macklin was at his absolute best and Sturm could have given a little more when they fought. I think Sturm has the beating of Macklin this time around.

Fair play to Sturms team for making the immediate rematch.

Macklin will get banjo'd this time round. When Sturm opened up he looked a class above. I expect a mid rounds stoppage this time out

Good stuff from Sturm if True.

I had Macklin by 1 round in the first fight.

But I think Sturm will do the business second time around.

You mean the last 10 seconds of the fight? He spent the rest of the fight in a turtle shell.

This might sound a little stupid but Sturm almost needs Macklin more that Macklin needs Sturm.

Sturms reputation in Germany is in tatters and the Germany media tore into Sturm and were calling macklin the true champ. I think Sturm lost a lot of fans that night and a rematch with Macklin is needed to restore that.

Macklin has plenty of options coming off the back of that and is currently in the States negotiating a fight with Martinez (and others)

Team Sturm issued the rematch fight poster and the press release about the offer going out. Macklin knew nowt about it until after it was released.

Great news, really enjoyed he first fight had sturm up by two but i was scoring it with hometown and champions bias.....macklins still got a great chance because sturm is still gonna have the same defensive style which suited macklins continuous punching style, but i think sturm is smart and will start off quicker and win a wide points decision
