I'll believe it when I see it (also known as when Wright gets real with his demands)

Hope Macklin knocks him the **** out

Cos he's been hoping for a non-existant mega payday.

It'd be on the undercard of Marquez-Morales.

The fights not appealing at all for me. Winky hasn't fought for ages and is coming off two losses. Still an ideal opportunity for Macklin to make a name Stateside.

I think if Winky has anything left which I think he does, his style is one which is possibly good for the long haul he got pretty badly beaten by Williams but I think Macklin is a good stylistic match up for Winky, I have a bad feeling for Macklin if this happens.

Same here. Winkys style will probably age relatively well and is a bad match up for Macklin.

    What gave it away?

Look, he was a fine technician in his day. But another American who has priced himseld out of several fights because they still use the "I beat Mosley and Trinidad line" but forget to leave out other fights such as his last ****ing two!!

He aint fought in almost two ****ing years! I know Macklin aint in a position were he cane say "let Wright come to me" but he doesn't need to cave like a ****ing lap dog to someone who should be basically sent to the boxing knackers yard.

Fair enough Shaun!! I just have good memories of him putting on good displays over here and winning me a few quid in the Trinidad fight....;O)

Wright of 3 years ago takes him apart. All depends what he has left.

Shame if the Barker fight doesn't happen but as I said in the Barker vs Macklin thread this is a big opportunity and probs a big payday. Think thats it for the Barker fight as its the 2nd time Macklin has said no to it after Hennesey won bids.

good fight but the wright of old would have won this clearly. don't know what wright has now. he hasn't really been interested in boxing for years. been nearly 2 years since he has been in the ring and it was nearly 2 years when he fought before that. both were losses but against a completely different level of fighter.

Which is why pretty much no one in Birmingham has heard of him.
