I'd take wright all day over the overrated macklin

 

If Macklin takes the fight,does that mean hes avoiding Barker

 

No but its still disappointing. Its the 2nd time he has taken another fight. Personally I think if Barker was given the same choice he would fight Macklin though.

this isn't a winky of old. its a shot to **** (probably) winky wright who fought two years ago, in a fight he was dominated in, coming from a loss before that in a fight which dates 2007.

mind you, macklins not great but i atleast expect him to make it competitive.

 

Cant imagine Winky pulling this off easy whether in shape or not. This will be only his second fight in four years and his first in two years. Also the last time he was out he lost a lopsided decision to paul williams, it all depends on what Winky has left at this stage of his career. I cant imagine him fighting any better than he did against williams. Granted Macklin is not as good a fighter as Williams but hes definietly picked the right time to fight Wright. The Winky of old would have beaten fighters like Macklin easily but this isnt the winky of old. I see this as a winnable fight for Macklin,with macklin pulling off a close decision win.

 

based on macklin has a shocking defence and got bullied and clearly beat by a european level fighter in his last fight,power is overrated aswell winky may have got dominated by p williams but williams is a good few levels above macklin, winky's defence will still be good and his style is all wrong for macklin:thumbsup

 

Really depends on how far past it he is. Nobody really knows what he has left but Macklin will be in for a hard night if the Winky of old turns up. That jab will give him fits.

 

Watch the fight again. You really haven't a clue how to score a fight if you think Macklin clearly lost that atsch. Varon won 4-5 rounds max, just because the underdog did better than expected, that doesn't mean he won the fight.

His style is a nightmare for Macklin though.

 

cant remember which rounds but im pretty sure mack won the 1st 3 rounds, then varon beat up matt after the 3rd then macklin made it close in the last few, had varon by 1 or 2 rounds, need to watch it back only watched it once live.

 

The only rounds Macklin stands a chance of winning here would be the ones Winky takes a breather in. He'll get schooled.

 

Would much prefer for a barker fight to be made!
