I still reckon that Barker has some skills and is good...but I'm going with Macklin in about six rounds :good

I do wish he'd shut the **** up.

He's only fought about five times since he lost to Moore and has gone through pretty much every trainer and promoter in the country.

Still not convinced this fight happens, he wasn't exactly in a hurry last time.

theres a new Macklin interview every 3 days at the moment and he seems obsessed with downplaying Barker.

yeah, he is obsessed, he has to continually reassure himself that has the ability to compete on Barkers level.

I am not sure how Macklin is going to cope when he steps up, Barker has been operating on a level that the Brummie Mick can only dream of!

    Bring on the pasting!

I think if Barker can negotiate the opening six rounds he can win the fight on points. He can win the battle at range but mustn't look to trade off with hooks when in transition.

True, but he was in a hurry to fight for the more prestigious European title against the #6 Middleweight in the World who held a win over one of the World title holders at the weight.

I swear if David Haye signed to fight one of the Klitschko brothers, someone on this forum would come along and say he ducked Audley Harrison.

Rob, Barker did the same thing downplaying Macklin. 'He's not in my league', to say the #5 Middleweight in the World is not in your league would give the impression Barker feels he's better than almost any Middleweight out there bar maybe Martinez. Which is just ridiculous really.

    when did Barker say that?

remember hatton promotions made a bid for the fight. when hennesey won it, and it got put in london, thats when they went for the european title. macklin has been the one saying he hopes barker doesnt pull out....when macklin pulled out before, macklin has been saying barker has a dodgy chin.....when macklins the one whos been stopped.

well come on there is a new interview every week when macklin is picking at something barkers done. macklin should just worry about himself and get on with training.

Don't get me wrong, I've got Macklin winning this one, but his behaviour over the past couple of years has been strange to say the least.

On Haye, I'd be surprised if he had more than one more fight before calling it a day, to be honest a retirement imminently wouldn't surprise me at all.
