    Round 7

Macklin is backing away, throwing counter uppercuts into the body designed to slow Heiland down but doing no such thing. Hard flurries up top by Macklin, unpinning himself from a tight low crouch, untidy, missing. Heiland is catching Macklin sitting on the middle rope with a right jab and then running him down with right hooks on the body and hard lefts curved up into his jawline.

    10-9 Heiland

    68-65 Heiland

    Round 8

Macklin is starting to score a bit more with his jab, ducking away from the ropes and darting in to hold or flurry on the chest. Heiland bats down Macklin's left jab with his right glove and chases him with a plunging left hand when Macklin ducks away into the ropes. BIG load of punches dumped from above by Heiland as Macklin stays low by the ropes. Uppercuts and wide slashing lefts by Macklin coming forward. Heiland punches through it, everything straight, overpowering Macklin.

    10-9 Heiland, closer

    78-74 Heiland

I remember someone saying on this forum that they could see Macklin get beat easily tonight. Could become true

Macklin is getting badly outworked. Not surprising, Macklin has lost alot of his zip and seems to be turning into a gatekeeper.

    Round 9

Macklin is getting bombarded on the ropes with double rights jabs and left crosses. Heiland keeps everything high, straight, and with virtually no gaps in between. Macklin is jumping forward off the ropes with rights on the body and holding, then clambering up Heiland's sides with slaps.

    10-9 Heiland

    88-83 Heiland

Could be a disastrous night for the future possibility of high-ish profile fights for Irish boxing

Dam Macklin had to win right? They were setting up a big fight for him against some other Fella. Eddie Hearn will not be happy.
