Since a lot of people will like to see what Calzaghe looks like at 175 before making an evaluation, let's make weight a non issue. Who wins this battle?

    Good matchup.

Saad handled lefty Marvin Johnson twice.

Without seeing JoeCal's power at 175, hard to judge.

But Saad is a very big lightheavy, with the left hook and right hand to do in Joe.

And it would be bloody because Saad is fighting in it.

    Saad by TKO late.

That's why I made weight a non issue for this matchup.

Saad would have won this fight, probably easily. People overlook that Saad was an excellent and lightning quick boxer when he wanted to be. He was more than just a slugger. I think Saad's combination of superior size and equal boxing ability relative to Calzaghe would enable him to win this fight big.

I'm suprised the Calzaghe people haven't flooded this topic yet with how he would beat Muhammad easily.

There aren't any Calzaghe fans who have heard of Saad.

    Calzaghe TKO2.

Saad was a good brave fighter, but he had no defense whatsoever and had limited boxing ability. Every fight he fought turned into a war. A good boxer with a strong chin outboxes him. Joe C. Would beat him.

Very close fight. Its difficult to judge because when I think of Muhammad I think of a big Cruiserweight warrior. But with weight a non issue, I guess Joe Calzaghe would win a close UD.

Saad will be worthy of his name when Joe has finished with him

I've heard of Saad. That's all. Never seen him fight, so I can't vote on this.

Originally Matthew Frankiln, he was an awesome American light-heavy champ who reigned in the late 1970's, involved in some great wars. I believe he was beaten by the Camden Buzzsaw Dwight Muhammad Quai by mid-round KO to lose his title. Lost the rematch too. Check him out on U-tube, you will not be disappointed. One of my favorite fighters to watch on ABC weekend afternoon fights back in the day. True Warrior.

If Calz. carries his chin and strength up to LHW, I'd pick him to beat Saad by decision. Too much skill, speed, chin, and savy for Saad to land enough bombs to take him out.
