Not meaning to be petty, that title fight between champion Floyd Patterson vs challenger Roy Harris took place on August 18 1958 in Los Angeles, California, but you are correct, Harris from Cut N Shoot Texas did drop Patterson before Harris, a school teacher was stopped by Patterson.
Floyd butchered him. When I interviewed Roy Harris in the 1990s he told me that Patterson hit him harder than Sonny Liston did. Liston knocked him down three times and kayo'd Harris in round one without seeming to land a really solid knockout blow -- or so it seemed to me when I watched the film multiple times. It was no tank job but I don't think Sonny ever whacked him a good one. The Liston jab doomed him.
Roy Harris turned out to be a game fighter against Floyd Patterson in August 1958, Matthew Saad Muhammad was a very game fighter in any of his bouts. I do think that his size and reach coupled with stamina, punching power would prove to be too much for Harris, who should return to teaching in the classroom after this match. Saad by TKO 7.
