It would be an epic war. Both are heavy handed, but I believe Matthysse is slightly stronger in both punch and chin.

Lucas is a level above him, will be good for a while but Matthysse will keep landin clean he has better technique

This would be a FOTY contender for sure. But it has no box office. Matthysse wil be looking for a bigger cheque than Maidana can offer.

Lucas Mathysse has a gold mine of fights at 140 to get through

Winner of Garcia/Morales - Mandatory for winner, picks up WBC/WBA belts
Winner of Peterson/Judah - Picks up IBF belt and avenges loss if Judah wins
Mike Alvarado - WBO title possibly on the line as JMM moves up to 147
Amir Khan - Big Money fight for Matthysse

There are 4 big money fights for him at 140 whilst cleaning out the division simultaneously. There is no point in fighting Maidana at the present time as his pro record has been somewhat diminished by recent fights.

Maidana became famous after Victor Ortiz quit on his stool
then followed by 2 impressive KO wins Maidana goes the distance with Corley
Fails to knock out Amir Khan thus raising his profile for taking a punch
Scrapes past an old Erik Morales
wins the "regular" WBA against Petr Petrov
Then finally gets dominated by Devon Alexander who robbed Mathysse of a win

Now he is lined up to fight Jesus Soto Karass who couldnt knock out Mike Jones and recently stopped by Gabriel Rosado.

So by the looks of things seeing as Mathysse fights 3 times a year :

    Early 2013 - Danny Garcia / Erik Morales - WBA/WBC 140
    Mid 2013 - Lamont Peterson / Zab Judah - WBA/WBC/IBF 140
    Late 2013 - Mike Alvarado - WBA/WBC/IBF/WBO 140

Entire division cleaned out and 3 big money fights he can moved up to 147

I don't think Lucas can be as effective at 147 as he is at 140.

    Well only time will tell

His competition doesnt look too dangerous 7 lbs north

    Devon Alexander - Already beat
Marcos Maidana - Lost to Alexander
    Paulie Malignaggi - No power
Manny Pacquiao - Close to retirement
Floyd Mayweather - Might already be retired
    Timothy Bradley - No power
    Kell Brook - Suspect chin

One thing you're forgetting with your unification scenario is sillyman isn't letting anyone unify the WBC belts. He said Garcia is going to have to choose and i'm sure he'll drop the WBC belt to avoid Lucas. Lucas becomes full WBC champ but if he tries to unify and the WBC threatens to strip him prior to unification the other Champions will back out just like happened with Pirog and the WBO when he tried to unify with Geale, WBO threated to strip him and Geale backed out.

    This won't ever happen.
(Arg Vs. Arg is unheard of at this level)

Luacas wins by T/KO. I think he has the better skillset.

I would rather see matthysse go for the belt first against winner of garcia v morales. Though I suspect garcia will vacate wbc before fighting matthysse. Matthysse had worked hard and deserves a championship.
