Matthysse - Robbed?

Lucas landed more shots and more power shots.

 

Punch stats tell us zero about judging.

 

Honestly I scored it 117-110 for Matthysse. It may look very wide but tha't the way I saw it. BTW I picked Judah by a wide UD(I've only saw Matthysse once against Harris) so it's not that I'm a Matthysse fan because I don't know who he is. Judah won the first two rds. without a doubt but after that, Matthysse made his work and Judah was just looking at him without responding(the majority of the time), letting the rounds go or simply respecting too much the power of his opponent(understandable), but he simply didn't wanted to give one to take one. That's why I scored it that wide, Matthysse did the job and Judah basically(on my eyes) did nothing to win rounds, only won three on my card(1,2 and 7, the 5th was close).

 

Seems a bit wide and tough on Judah to only give him three rounds in that one. That said, neither man really put their stamp on too many rounds, so it is quite possible to have some people with extreme scorecards such as this. Just the nature of scoring.

 

As big a Judah fan as I am, I still had Matthysse 114-113...

That said, Zab got the decision and now it's time to look towards the future for him. He seemed so reluctant to pull the trigger... and his corner is (and always has been) just terrible. At least he didn't mentally crumble when the going got tough.

As for the ppl claiming robbery? No way. This was a razor close fight...
HBO definitely lucked out, though.

Wow.....JUDAH won that shyt?????? I turned after the 11th i just knew Matt had it sewn up. They did say the judges were inexperienced though.

 

I didnt think it was an all out robbery, however I saw it being very difficult for Mattysse to get a close decision in the US.

Sorry, but you can't win a fight in my eyes on the cards if you don't land a single punch to your opponents head until the 9th round. It is a case by case basis, but Judah would land 10 punches upstairs to Matthysses ten punches downstairs. I also thought Judah clearly moved and defended better.

Having said all this, I scored it 114-113 Judah and with the judges scorecards' being split but all 114-113, I'd say a good example of judging.

I'm shocked to see the overwhelming majority think Matthysse won.

 

You can win 7 rounds by the slimmest of margins and lose 5 rounds by ass beating and still win the fight.

 

Matthysse won the fight. It was close but clear. 7-5.

Judah only outlanded him 4 times and only landed more power shots ONCE. It was absolutely a robbery.

 

I hate Matthysse, no doubt about it, but we appeared to have crooked judges. This crap is hurting boxing.
