Not a robbery, in my opinion. Matt should have won it though. I would re-watch it to score, but I'm not in a hurry to do that.. I disliked Zab's mentality. He's still got that weak mind frame which just made me think "twat".
****** because i noticed the error? ****** because i didnt hear them say anything about the "error"? **** your face you ******
People refer to close matches as robberies all the time... It is pretty sad as it diminishes the power of the word. Much like how people refer to musicians as "selling out" so much that the term no longer has any potency. Did Zab clearly and decisively win? Hell no. Did Matthysse clearly and decisively win? Not even close. So no, no robbery took place. If the last three rounds were the only scored part of the match then Matthysse pitched a shut out; otherwise it could have gone either way.
Matthysse could easily have been given the decision, no need to rewatch it. Seriously, do yourself a favor and avoid rewatching the fight. Unless you are having sleeping problems...
Not sure if it was a robbery but it was a close fight. Although I felt Matthysee deserved it I can see why people would have it for Zab. If Matthysee pressed the action more in the earlier rounds then I could see no reason not to give him the W but that didn't happen.
You could give Matthysse one or two rounds out of the first eight, but he didn't clearly win a single one of those rounds...and then others had Judah winning the 12th.
The biggest issue with this fight was the fact that Matthysse just didn't try hard enough for 9 out of 12 rounds to actually win this fight. He was content with letting Judah jab him and then throw a couple body shots. Judah was there to be beaten tonight, he was never elite, but Judah is still even a shell of fighter that he once was, but Matthysse for his first fight in America, and a chance to be a breakout star.. that is the performance that Lucas put out? Lucas Matthysse had a faded Judah, a legit name for his resume, there to be taken.. and that is the ****-poor performance that he put out to the World? Sad. He's still gonna be a tough nut for any of the top 140lb guys to crack.. and Maidana, Khan, and Ortiz might be best to just avoid the guy going forward. He's now fallen to the all risk/no reward level.
My scorecard had Judah winning the first 9 rounds, with Matthysse scoring 10-7 in the 10th, 10-8 in the 11th, and 10-8 against in the 12th.
I had Judah by a round but it was not an impressive outing by any means. I can totally see someone having it for Matthysse or having it a draw. close to call and a lotta rounds that coulda gone either way. i guess on the bright side he showed a bit more resiliency than we're used to seing.
