Matthysse-Ruslan

Matthysse has that one punch ko power and ruslan can be hit. I go with Lucas on this one. Personally, i think this fight will be the greatest fight in boxing history. Will make gatti ward look like a childrens school play

 

Can you think of a better fight in any division right now for entertainment value? Both guys are come forward pressure fighters, both hit real hard, both can take a huge punch, it would be like watching a bear vs a lion. Out of any welter weights in the past 20 years, i would pick those two to have my back in a bar fight.

 

I say lucas can win it..but it really depends on how welll either of them hold up to the damage they can both dish out. Based on history ruslan bleeds more...but matthysse eye socket was ****ed up too.

Also its one of the biggest myths in boxing that matthysse got this crazy one punch ko power... He hasnt. He has got serious power but not one punch ko power.

The only guy i can remember him putting to sleep was an underprepared mike dallas.... All the other guys he beat up - took beatings into the mid to later rounds including an old soto.

If he was a crazy one punch ko guy.... Everyone of those guys would of barely got up and lasted into the later rounds. Ajose took several flush head shots and still was up. Even peterson managed to get up from a full swing hook.

Now danny garcia, that boy got more one punch power and possibly a better beard than matthysse too...even though i think he used dirty tactics to beat the machine...he got the w.

 

He couldnt keep khan down. Didnt ko an old morales in first fight. And couldnt ko nate campbell. If your gunna pick apart matthysses opponents then you have to be consistent with garcia's. Dont just favor Danny cos you like his haircut

 

Ruslan would put him to bed

 

Right?! Ive watched a lot of both their fights and considering how much punishment they take its very very very rare to see them get buzzed. And they have taken big hits from top competition

 

Look at their common opponent - judah. I accept judah gave garcia a lot more problems and even said matthysse hits harder... But who actually had judah doing the funny dance more than once?

Anyway, i prefer matthysse as a fighter as opposed to garcia. This threads about ruslan-lucas...in that fight i give the edge to lucas but really depends how well he has recovered especially his eye socket.

 

I think Ruslan hits harder, but Matthysse is the better boxer. In paper, Matthysse should win handily, but Ruslan's power will wear him down eventually
