Matthysse to Fight Broner on Mayweather's Undercard?

Conditioning coach Marcelo Crudelo is saying that former WBC light welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse (34-3, 32 KO’s) is possible for the undercard of Floyd Mayweather Jr’s next fight card on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to esnewsreporting.com. Matthysse is currently getting ready for his next fight already.

There’s still no names as to who Matthysse will be fighting, but it’ll likely be a decent opponent if he ends up the Mayweather pay-per-view fight card on Showtime, because he usually has competitive and interesting fights on his cards.

It might just be Broner, I remember Broner saying in December that he wants to fight Matthysse after Maidana and Matthysse will have no problem obliging on that.

Another beat down for Broner

 

Wasn't it recently announced(or rumored) that Matthysse is fighting Cano next?

 

I like both fighters, but I don't think it's in Broner's best interest to take on Lucas, especially after coming off that loss with Marcos.

Broner needs to take on someone who doesn't have 1 punch KO power. Lucas is the hardest hitting Junior Welterweight in the world and could destroy broner's career with a 2nd consecutive loss if they faced each other.

Broner is too flat footed and hangs out in the pocket for too long, he's bound to getting nailed with one of those powershots from Lucas.

 

I don't think the powers that be will let Broner fight someone as dangerous as Matthysse. I'm think someone like Hank Lundy will get the call.

 

Can't see this fight happening, its been a long layoff for Matthyse he and Broner should face somebody easier and then the fight can take place on the Mayweather undercard in September.

 

Matthysse destroys Broner if this happens.
