Matthysse vs Ortiz Stoppage

Long Count anyway, Ortiz went down with 30 seconds left on the time clock - he gets up with 17 seconds left..... that's a 13 second count.... fact is he was down for at least 10 seconds. Being dumb must be in the Ortiz name.

I don't think the outcome of Froch Groves 1 was inevitable at all..and the stoppage was 50x worse...unquantifiably worse.

 

MVC is correct, those very same commentator's had no problem calling bs in a situation that favored their Showtime baby in Lucas . So, that tells me if they thought the Danny decision was a robbery they'd have said so, they did not.

 

That is exactly what it looked like, that he saw him attempting to get up and quickly waved it off. I am willing to assume that Benjy prematurely assumed that Ortiz was not going to get up, and had already had it in his mind that he would be waving once he got to 9 and saw that Ortiz was still on his knee. And once the waving starts he cannot stop for a matter of looking even more suspect. What I can't understand is why he would have it in his mind that he Ortiz would not be getting up. Ortiz was looking unhurt, looking up at Benjy and obviously waiting to get as much time as he could. All signs that said Benjy should have been mentally prepared to continue the fight rather than stop.

I also cannot understand fan reaction's of "oh well" imagine if we had this attitude all the time, fights could be stopped on any punch of the ref's choice if you think about it. Rules are in place for a reason, to limit cheating, corruption etc. when they start getting bent and twisted with no one questioning then you become part of the problem. I also can't understand "he just sped up the inevitable" I guess if that's true, this is Lucas's Salka, right??
