Anything is possible in an explosive fight like this but I'm going to pick Matthysse. I believe Matthysse is the more skilled fighter.
Lucas seems the more complete fighter to me, but Ruslan at close quarters is an explosive double fisted threat. I think if Ruslan got close enough he could win some exchanges with the faster hands, but Lucas was able to neutralize Garcia's power for most of the fight until he got blinded on that right eye. Ruslan is also a strong 140lber like Garcia carries his power very well its still determined to see how Matthysse would carry his power over to 147. Aside from power, Lucas has that iron chin, took more than one of Danny's powerful left hooks to bring him down. To me seemed more like Lucas was more overwhelmed from the barrage of hooks he couldn't see than actually hurt. He was also tangled on the ropes. I don't see Prov having the same luck or even Garcia having the same luck in a rematch.
:huh So now Garcia was the one being neutralize. Whats funny before the fight according to most ESB experts Danny didnt stand a chance, Lucas power was going to be too much and overwhelming for Danny. Danny was suppose to last only two rounds...that boy cant get no props
Tough to call. Matthysse is more skilled but Provodnikov is a machine. You just can't count guys like that out, sometimes a better fighter beats the better boxer like Segura over Marquez and Margarito over Cotto. If it becomes a battle of nutrition then Provodnikov has a chance. Good fight, I wouldn't be disappointed if Matthysse got some big fights even coming off a loss. It was hardly a devastating defeat so no big deal in my opinion.
