Matthysse would beat Gift in a rematch

    Matthysse was clearly the better fighter in the first half of their fight, Garcia took over because of the swelling over Matthysse's eye, and scored a 10-8 round because of an illegal knockdown. Reffing was horrible all around and very much to Garcias advantage. Considering how poor Gift has looked recently, and the fact that Matthysse clearly looked to be the better fighter before the swelling blinded him I don't see how Gift manages to eek out another win. Probably gets knocked out as well. Provo and Garcia also have a similar style, come forward brawlers with very little boxing ability. Garcia would be hitting air just like he was against Peterson, and just like how Provo was for most of last nights fight. Thoughts? :think

    Lucas ended up ruining Danny in the long run because of the first match, he'd polish him off in the rematch.:deal

    Matthysse is scared of Danny Swift.

    Danny Swift already destroyed him, cracked his weak jaw, destroyed his confidence.

    Matthysse does not have the power to trouble Danny Swift.

    Danny Swift would put him on his ass again and this time down and out. :patsch:rofl

    Was a fairly close competitive/fight actually, and Gift only did well in the second half because he was facing a one eyed fighter. His personal ref scored an illegal knockdown, and gave him time to recover while hurt during a Matthysse rally. Gift has looked like absolute dog **** lately, Matthysse just beat an EE version of him last night. Why couldn't he do it again?

    7. Garcia would knock his ass out the next time

    8. Do it at 47 and Garcia ends him.

    Gift is 1-2 since they've fought, with his lone winning coming against cabdriver Rod Salka :lol::rofl

    Matthysse can do a lot of those things, considering he outboxed Gift for the first half of the fight, and had him hurt and made him spit out his mouth piece so his ref could give him time to recover. Knockdown was illegal and shouldn't have been counted.

    Gift won't rematch Matthysse, Herrera, or Peterson though. He only rematches shot fighters like Morales.

    He is 30-0, he won every match, that's how most scored it!!!!

    Matthysse didn't outbox anything!!!

    He got hurt, he got exposed and his team got exposed!!!!!

    The ref was helping Matthysse and took a stupid point off Garcia at the end.

    That knockdown was legit and he lost.

    Deal with it!!!!! :deal

    Most thought he lost the Peterson, and Herrera fights you spaz. Rematch should happen, but we all know Gift won't take it.

    Everyone KNOWS that Garcia beat Matthysse, Peterson and Herrera.

    That's how most boxing aficionados scored it.

    I do not believe you can accept that Garcia beat Matthysse.

    I just can't understand that!!!

    Mattheysse showed a boxing ability that he has always had. He is such a warrior that he can't just stick with it. And that makes him an FOTY candidate every single time. He LOVES to fight. As a fan, I cannot fault him for that. Here's hoping Lucas gets a well deserved title shot....I believe he can hold it for quite a while.

    Incorrect. Matthysse knocked Garcia's mouthpiece out with a right cross when Danny was against the ropes. Garcia tied him up and skipped backwards to the other set of ropes where Matthysse (being right hand happy at that moment) did something dumb and lunged in with a poorly timed right cross that allowed Garcia to tie him up.

    The ref -- doing his job -- looked for a break in the action and called time so the mouthpiece could be recovered (from the crowd!) and then handed it Angel so that Angel could put it back in.

    From when Weeks called "time out" to when he called "time in" took 14 seconds total. But he didn't break the fighters right when the punch landed, in fact, he waited about 10 seconds until there was a break in the action.

    the thing about the illegal knockdown is nonsense. Garcia spun him and hit him and LM went down. It wasn't a devastating KD but it wasn't 'illegal'
