They keep track of weights well. FFS, did you even read the rest of my sentence? BoxRec is a good tool when used properly.
Actually, I just saw the fight. He blew his load in the first two rounds trying to get Vera out of there. Still, Vera didn't win a round. Korobov gassed and was rather sloppy after, though. I can't believe the unofficial scorers gave Vera rounds. atsch Vera put up a very good effort.
He did well, just not as well as I was predicting. He looked dead tired in there and Vera was hitting him with shots that had no business landing. One second, he looks completely in command, miles above Vera technique-wise, and the next Vera is smacking him around, breaking his guard up the middle and walking him down. Then he takes control again, looks excellent, and back comes Vera because Korobov is too tired to get out of the way. A lot of what Vera was hitting him with could have been just stepped away from if Korobov were minding his distance. You gotta give it to Vera though, the man comes to fight and has no quit in him.
Yeah, I thought Vera was a terrible opponent, but upon viewing the whole fight, I think it was a good experience for Korobov. Korobov really needs to stop trying to be a puncher. He hits hard, but he's no KO artist like he seems to think. Still, I'd love to see Korobov matched up with Saunders. They both have stamina issues, and I think it'd be quite the chess match.
I was scratching my head wondering why Korobov suddenly thinks he's a puncher too. Apparently, Vera got knocked out in 2 his last match and hadn't won his last 4. Korobov probably thought he was a soft touch now and was there for the taking. He needs to do something spectacular to get his momentum back, the way Jacobs is riding high again after blowing out Quillin.
Nobody respects a **** poster like you. Nobody. I don't even know why I'm talking to your re****ed ass right now, lmao. I never talk boxing with your sorry ass. I just **** on you and keep it moving. You're the one with the agenda......posing as a Mexican. You aren't Mexican mofo. Mexican fight fans don't **** ride Euro fighters all of the time like you do dip****.
I like Korobov, I don't think there's much to dislike really. He got iced by that Lee hook but that doesn't make him a bad fighter at all. If he can squeeze into 160 still I would welcome a rematch
Honestly, Vera went all the way up to 168 lbs. where he has zero business. He got KO'd because of a bad referee call. Dude slipped, and he was on his knees when Fielding was punching him. Stupidly, he looks at the referee because he thought they'd break him, and he gets his dome checked. It was a bit of a controversial stoppage too as Vera was still on his feet. Maybe Korobov thought he could outright KO Vera, but he's actually been fighting like that for a while now. Somehow, as a pro, he thinks he hits like a mule or something. I wish he stopped trying to fight like he's a puncher.
There are barely any Mexicans posting on here, and I'd say very close to zero real Mexicans. You know zero, zero about Mexicans. I'm not even trying to talk to you anyways. Who the hell wants to talk to a dirty demographic? Yeah, my agenda is reminding people I'm Mexican when I never even mention it until you came up with that idiotic thing. I constantly make you look dumb and shoot you down, though. atsch
Korobov is still a top 5 160lbser, i'd back him to beat Lee in a rematch. 168 is a different beat though, good luck too him. He could beat a Sturm/Abraham/Chudinov type titlist but I have my doubts against Degale, Jack and Gilberto, I say they beat him fairly wide.
I think Korobov could beat Groves, especially this version. I think he has a very, very good shot against DeGale. DeGale also is a bad stamina fighter. DeGale takes entire rounds off even when he's ahead. He did that against Dirrell. Uh, Jack and Gilberto would be stylistic nightmares for Korobov imo. They have awesome gas tanks and just keep coming. Eh, I don't think Korobov is a top 10 MW right now. He needs a good win to get him back into contention. I might have Korobov in the top 15 right now, though. Let me see... 1. Golovkin 2. Saunders 3. Jacobs 4. Lemieux 5. Lee 6. Quillin 7. N'Dam 8. Heiland 9. Eubank Jr. 10. Khurtsidze 11. Monroe Jr. 12. Sulecki 13. Stevens 14. Korobov 15. Johnson
No active fighter hits their weightclass on the scales if it's not an eliminator or for one of them silver or inter-continental trinkets. There's no point of wrenching out those extra couple of pounds. Doesn't mean he's acclimating himself to the division above. Don't have to check BoxRec to know that.
