It will be interesting to see how much of the Bodysnatcher's style rubs off on Korobov with McCallum working his corner.

Matvey is a good body puncher. So long as his conditioning stays good for the 10 and 12 rounders (which i have no concern about) i think it'll benifit him, he'll wear alot of guys down with that body work and get late stoppages imo.

that was him as trainer? who else has he trained? this is brutal, it's his 4th trainer now.

Mike McCallum has a wealth of world-class in-ring experience - as long as the chemistry works I wouldn't be worried about him being a good fit as a teacher and guide.

I'm not sure who else he's worked with; that's a good question.

You cant blame the trainer , matvey speaks ok english now so there shouldnt be any language barriers and thus no problems.
If matvey loses when he steps up it will be his own talent and resistance that lets him down.

I question how much English he knows, also i remember Adams talking in the corner and i couldn't understand wtf he was saying, no way in hell Matvey could. There's a difference between North American English and what alot of Black Americans call English. That's the truth.

Sure you can, especially with a guy early in his career. I fully blame Jeff Mayweather for ruining Ibragimov and Mcgirt for Adamek's **** poor showing vs Dawson. Take an aggressive power puncher like Sultan and have him play defensive vs Klychko or a pressure fighter like Adamek and try getting him to box a guy with faster hand and foot speed, ****ing brilliant. Fighting like an American style ***** doesn't work for those guys.

Jeff mayweather and Buddy Mcgirt cant be compared to Kenny Adams in terms of teaching skills or quality of their english.
    The same for Mccallum.

You need to face facts about Korobov and the difference between amateur success and pro success. Just take a look at at Audley Harrison...

The truth about korobov from what i can see is he still punches like an amateur and doesnt look like he has the stamina for the fast paced pro game.

These things can be changed and matvey is getting the chance to do it with many different trainers but ultimately it rests on his shoulders to improve himself...

As someone else has said it's worrying that he keeps moving from trainer to trainer he hasn't really improved since he turned pro. He is in a similar place to Tyson Fury (but more gifted) where he doesn't seem to be moving along as he should be and the people who have a stake in his career aren't telling him to sort himself out.

Red - lol how so. He doesn't just look to "touch" guys with pitty pat ****. Nor did he fight like that in the Amateurs.

green - others have said this but i disagree. He was still throwing 4-6 punch combos in the 8th round. I'd assume the surgery helped too.

Purple - fair enough, trainers can have negative effects on fighters too though.

Go to toprank.com and there is an interview with matvey where he says he didnt have surgery and is just taking meds to improve his nose problem, which he said worked. His english was very good also!

Maybe korobov just doesnt have the power then to trouble tough journeymen then.

Cool stuff man thanks. I read interviews with ppl from his camp that said he was having the surgery. Suprised to hear that he didn't. I saw an interview with him when he first turned pro about a year and a half ago and he could hardly put words together. He's basically fluent now, that's crazy.

nevermind power, the sheer size and overall skills of these fighters would be way too much for guerrero to handle. but in all honesty i can see him giving golovkin fits, golovkin has got good speed and hellacious KO power but he does tend to leave himself open when on the assault. between him and korobov i see korobov as the superior, he seems to have much more in his arsenal as opposed to golovkin.
