Jesus christ this guy is erratic. He turned pro at 16, I believe. His entire career is punctuated by upsetting certain fighters, losing other fights he shouldn't and long periods of inactivity. He supposedly sparred hundreds of combined rounds with Roy Jones and Lennox Lewis. Anyone ever seen him fight?
i have seen him on youtube. never a live fight or a fight a day after. but he was a big upsetter. he had a bit of a jab but his main weapon was defence a man his size who was agile and had enough stamina and endurance. also quick hands. he is a world class journeyman. he could punch as well and almost koed derrick jefferson until a he sprang back with a devestatign left hook. mo is one of the fighters i like not a world titlist just a fighter who fights who gives him money. he guile and skills are way beyogn somone with his calibre of non amatuer career and age. he was a formidable contender and you really had to be at your peak to beat him. there is another fighte i like who is similar called Rodney Ray pretty similar just without the career highlight.
I feel similarly about "Mo" Harris, VW. A relaxed -- almost arrogant -- silky boxer, good legs, educated jab, follow-up hooks and a drawstring right hand with lottsa leverage and kick, plus he has good reflexes on defense. He can look like a world-beater (never backs away from an exchange) until he gets tagged, and then his constitution betrays him -- never his attitude. On any given night (especially if he's thought to be a soft touch) he can put the lights out on anyone early. Very dangerous fighter...in spite of his record.
...............I have his fight with Holmes on tape. Many thought he beat a comebacking Larry that night, still a good feat.
I don't understand how he took some of the shots he did in the Jefferson fight, like that ungodly uppercut, and was still stopped something like a dozen times throughout his career?
After the way "Mo" was dropped, and lay stone cold, by Jefferson and Oquendo, I didn't think he was hurt; I thought he was dead.
Hahhahaha. I agree, but he should have been dead when Jefferson hit him with that uppercut that sent his mouthpiece flying into the crowd. But he wasn't.
I recently saw his fight with Gerald Nobles, hadn't seen him before that. He took a pretty big punch in that one.
