    One of my favs and representing my part of the country. It blows how he got screwed over twice because he isn't a big name.

    It shocked the hell out of me that they actually went ahead and screwed him over with the Benavidez fight, I figured after all of the hoopla stirred up after the Garcia decision they wouldn't have the guts to. I was wrong.:-(

    I figured I'd rewatch and rescore Mike vs Mauricio again since it was a damn close match just for the hell of it.
    Alvarado Vs. Herrera RBR.

    Round 1
    Herrera controlled the distance with his jab effectively varying it up to the body and head. Alvarado lands a few power punches here and there Herrera slips many of them. Mauricio takes round 1 by outworking him.

    Mauricio 10-9

    Round 2
    Alvarado comes out aggressive Herrera stands in the pocket and slips a ton of Mike's shots, Herrera fires back and takes quite a few Alvarado shots flush, Herrera works the body slips some shots and fires back. Alvarado lands the harder shots edges the round. Great Round

    Mike 10-9

    Round 3
    Mauricio is super defensive for the first minute neither land much of note, then for the last 2 minutes in turns into a phone booth war, Herrera is working away like a worker bee, working the body and throwing flurries at Mike's head, Mike answers back with some big shots, Herrera backs him up at the end. Herrera edges it.

    Mauricio 10-9

    Round 4
    Mauricio slipping a lot of punchers early, Mike lands flush hard backs Herrera up, Herrera slipping punches in close, he starts firing back with flurries and combos, Mike landing the bigger shots, some are being slipped in close Herrera comes back, then Mike backs him to the ropes, Herrera comes back pounding Mike's head, very close round Herrera outworks Mike by a slight margin.

    Mauricio 10-9

    Round 5
    Mike starts off boxing well throwing his jab keeping Herrera just out of range, Alvarado nails Herrera with some big shots backs him to the ropes, Herrera slips a lot of Mike's shots in close, flurries off the ropes slips Mike's big shots back. Herrera comes off the ropes pushing Mike back, another close round. mike landed the more than he has in previous rounds. Mike round slightly.

    Mike 10-9

    Round 6
    Mike starts the round tentatively allowing Herrera to change up his strategy, Mauricio throws multiple effective lunging left hook and left uppercuts backing Mike up, Mike lands here and there, Herrera opens backs Mike up, they flurry on each other. Herrera wins round.

    Mauricio 10-9

    Round 7
    Mike clips Herrera early seeming to stun him, he backs him to the ropes and fires away for the majority of the round Herrera knot under his eyes splits open and starts bleeding badly, Herrera goes toe to toe taking a ton of punishment, but too little too late. Mike wins round big.

    Mike 10-9

    Round 8
    Herrera keeping Mike at bay with the jab, Mauricio's eye looks like ****, Mike bullies him to the ropes giving Herrera a chance to shoeshine Mike's body and flurry up top, Mike landing some bombs missing some. Close round. Herrera more accurate, slightly more active. Mike landed the harder shots.

    Mike 10-9 barely

    Round 9
    Herrera looking visibly tired, Mike backs him up lands some bombs on his eye, Herrera fires back with a few flurries, but Mike lands the harder shots.

    Mike 10-9

    Round 10
    Mike backs Herrera up on the ropes lands a few big shots but Herrera comes back throws a ton of shots to the body and the head of Alvarado, Mike fires back gets him on the ropes pounds him, Herrera comes off the ropes pushing Mike back landing a ****load of body shots and left and right hooks to the head, based on activity Herrera wins the round

    Mauricio 10-9

    God he is frustrating to bet on, really raises your hopes then he gets screwed again. He won that last fight about 8 rounds to 4!
