The reason I say this, and I usually won't about an upcoming fighter, is that he had alot of buzz surrounding him. Then the buzz fizzled, he lost alot of the public's interest. That's why I think he's being well matched with a high profile, but light hitting Herrera. I know he's only 22, but big things were expected of him. Sure he can lose and make a comeback later because of his age, but if they want to market him as this young, talented, undefeated world class Chicano fighter ready for the big leagues, then he must be really special. If he can get past Herrera, we're talking about he might be DLH/Mayweather special when they were around the same age. You've got to be a helluva 22 yr old to beat Herrera. But if he can't, there's no shame losing to someone like Herrera, but I think it would hurt Benavidez credibility as this young, great talent.

Herrera is the best fighter at 140.

Benvidez by KO. Herrera can't break an egg. Benavides uses his jab. Manhandles Herrera in the clinches. And busts him up. Herrera is a bum.

too soon for Benadivez, has only fought bums so far and lacks elite level amateur experince

reminds me of Loma-GRJ except Benadivez has even less experince than Gary and Herrera is no lomachenko

He was the youngest ever national golden gloves champion and went pro when he was 17.

What sort of amateur experience do you expect him to have?

exactly his amateur experince goes as far as national level not elite internaitonal experince, learn to read

i never said i expected him to have more im simply stating that GRJ had top level international experince was older and still couldn't handle the step up

Benavidez has proved very little and there really throwing him at the deep end, his only been 8 rounds once ffs

Are you saying that Benavidez's lack of amateur experience at the Olympic/World Amateur Championships level will hurt him?

considering his fought at best journeymen in the pros of course yes

if he had fought good pros already it would not have mattered that much

GRJ is an example, world level amateur ,****ty pro competition and still couldn't beat a guy with only two fights as a pro

Remember that Lomachenko fought a titleholder in Salido in only his 2nd pro fight. I think that fight was a good learning experience for Lomachenko.

So many talented prospects/fighters fall to pieces after suffering their first loss because they think they're invincible.

yes lomachenko has huge amateur experince, 6 WSB fights against top competition, 1 fight against an contender and a 12 round fight against a guy two weight classes above him who fouled all night

Benavidez has a golden gloves title and fought a few homeless guys and has never been past 8 rounds. They are throwing him in at the deep end and he will have to be a very very very special talent to win this

A lot of prospects/fighters fall apart after their first loss. I think it's because they realize that they're not invincible, and it comes as a shock to them. Then, they start to wonder if they really want to continue boxing for a career. We'll have to see if that's true for Russell.

and Benadivez if he loses, id have him as an underdog

think russel could fall to pieces ,if you look at the ridiculous amount of **** he was talking before the Lomachenko fight i think he taught he was incredible, he said he would hammer rigo lmfao
