The fact that Herrera went life and death with a Soto Karass who was coming off getting stopped by Kamegai means he needs to retire or go on the fight shot to **** old fighters tour, like when Paulie and Zab fought. He can fight Rios, Alvarado, or Ortiz. I actually think Ortiz would brutally stop him though I have to watch the Karass/Herrera fight.

I think he went more than life and death... He lost 96-94 according to most of the RBR... The fight was kick ass though. There's probably some good money in a trilogy with these two if both parties want it.

Dam, I wish I tuned in now. What you think of a little tournament between Rios, Alvarado, Ortiz, Herrera, and Soto Karass? Not sure if Herrera/Soto fought at 154 though.

I don't get why promoters always just keep trying to build up their fighters feeding these guys to them. Why not set up a fun tournament like this. Hell the ghost can get in on this action too, I bet it does real solid numbers. Not only real boxing fans will tune in but the Mexican fan base would love it too.

Yeah the Gatti/Ward model involving faded but exciting fighters should be more of a thing... Most fans want action, if they see a fight like this on a big stage they'll want to see more. Unfortunately this wasn't on the undercard of a big fight or network TV, so nobody will give a damn... Which is a shame. These two had their backs to the wall and laid it all on the line. That should be rewarded... Just like how Gatti and Ward were rewarded for their 1st fight.

Dammit I was planning on doing a thread proposing a tournament like that. Oh well, I'm still going to. That definitely needs to happen, I'm literally in ecstasy at the mere thought of some of the potential matchups. I wonder if Margarito could drain his ass down to 147 again, hmmm.

I'd pay money to see a tournament like that set up. Too bad it never will, you know these guys are just going to be fed to the up and coming prospects. Karass has already been getting the **** beaten out of him, Gomez ****ed Herrera up and will mostly be stopped by an up and comer soon.

I would too, I'd much rather see a stacked PPV of Ortiz-Rios, Soto Karass-Guerrero, Alvarado-DeMarco, Herrera-Malignaggi and Ruslan-Berto any day of the week over most of the crap they try to sell to us.

That would be an amazing card with Rios/Ortiz headlining. That Ruslan/Berto fight sounds so good too.

And the next one just switch all of their dance partners. Rios-Berto, Ortiz-Soto Karass, Guerrero-Paulie, Herrera-Alvarado 2 and DeMarco-Ruslan. Not quite as good, but better than Rigo-Flores and Arias-Magomedov. Ugh

They should do a seniors tour of great match ups that should've or could've hypothetically happened but never did for one reason or another.

    Pavlik vs Abraham
    Lewis vs Vitali II
    Lewis vs Bowe
Or Roy Jones vs a savage puncher
