Josh was back on form there… He'd have got the job done… Anybody suggesting his game plan was to go in and head-butt him .. go give your head a wobble…. It was clearly accidental… He's a blood and guts warrior not a ****ing cheat like your heroes Andre Ward et cetera.. bring on Lara III..

I'm not interested in no fighter named Josh Warrington.

Delusional father.Take it as a victory hahahaha!
Your son is Lara's boy. There's nothing you can say that will change that.
He has his number anywhere anytime.

    Warrington getting hammered on youtube.

All the comments and the thumbs down on his ifl interview is pretty telling.

It’s a shame we didn’t get to see this fight play out.

Technically Warrington should be able to just execute a box and move job on Lara and win a lopsided decision.

But then there is the intriguing element of his own ego taking over and him standing in the pocket too long. Getting chinned and it being a rerun of the first fight.

The first round was perfect by Warrington. But in the second round there were a couple of moments where he held his feet too long without resetting or smothering Lara up close.

Yeah it's hard to know a fighters intent and while he was head butting Lara a lot I rather think it was him poorly executing a plan to smother Lara and not giving him room to counter.

Having said that if he doesn't make an adjustment in a possible 3rd fight he'll likely end up with the same result and headbutting Lara so much one of them gets cut or he gets DQ'ed. So while I personally don't think he intended to use this illegal tactic, he is at fault for repeatedly coming in with his head in a dangerous manner that will always lead to head butts.

I turned off last night as soon as they called it off and my first thought was, 'they won't want him in with Lara again'.

I lasted a minute of that interview just now and it was confirmed. I don't think he's delusional though. That's the line that they actually rehearsed behind closed doors prior to facing the cameras.

They've looked at it and they know damn well that Warrington isn't the kind of fighter to box on the way he did in the first round, it's not in his make-up. The signs were there in the second, Lara hits like a mule and was going to get through at some point. Even right through the middle of that high guard at one point.

Hearn must be trying to recoup the costs sunk into Warrington if he's telling people Lara was looking for a way out. It's been a disastrous signing for Matchroom/DAZN even if Eddie managed to get the stadium fight on last night. Having spent so long pushing the redemption line they now have to pretend he redeemed himself simply by getting in the ring with Lara and 'facing his demon'. It's embarrassing for all concerned.

You can't spin this as anything other than it was. Now there's no clause to exercise I predict negotiations for a third fight will mysteriously break down and Warrington will have to 'move on' - in any direction that doesn't end with him facing Lara in a ring. Eddie will want to try and get the Leeds v Sheffield Galahad fight on, so I predict Warrington will face a walking punchbag who somehow carries a ranking when the Lara rematch talk dies down and then he'll cash out against Galahad, hopefully with some honest judges because Josh does not look like he'll be the cash cow that they thought he could be.

I agree. To be honest. We are not in there taking those bombs. I can tell he was in survival mode right away. Made his mind up that it's not worth going thru hell for a win. So decided to head butt and cause a fight stopping injury. Is it right? No! but Lara was just too strong for Josh. He hits that hard in my opinion. Navarette isn't lying!! Josh had no option the other option was get his lights switched off.

I can't definitively say he was looking for a stoppage, but I suspect he was using every last drop of his A side advantages, including in refereeing and every trick in the book was on the table.

It will be interesting what line Hearn and his mouthpieces start pushing. I predict they'll give Josh a can to crush before December and with Lara out of the picture they'll then move towards the Galahad A N Other fight with lines like:

'Josh would want nothing more than to set things straight against Lara, but this is a sport where you can't afford to sit around waiting for someone to be fit'

'Josh faced Lara and showed that the first fight wasn't reflective of his quality. Now he's got a new target in his sights'

'Josh showed he could take Lara's power when focussed, do we really need to rerun that fight when there's X Y and Z to face?

    etc etc.

Good analysis reminded me a lot of Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk where you knew the level and pace he fought at in the 1st rd wasn’t gonna last the whole fight. By the second rd you started to see he didnt like those shots from Lara. It’s easy for some to say he could have easily won by boxing the way he did in the first but I guarantee by round 5 he wouldn’t have been able to keep Lara off of him. I’m not gonna say the headbutt was intentional but in my eyes he was looking for a way out without losing..
