Wood is a warrior for facing Lara twice when he didn't need to. He won't be afraid to fight Kholmatov.

And Warrington just had a real close fight with Lopez, I and many others had him winning that. He may be past his absolute prime from the frampton amd selby fights. But he's still a strong top 10 force.

I thought Warrington was done but his decision loss to Lopez which was very close (I think I had it 115-113 Lopez) has aged extremely well with Lopez blasting Conlan out in 5. Wood is 34 so should chase the big money fights. Kholmatov is very risky and if he loses he will likely have to retire. Warrington is more winnable and a bigger fight.

I don't mind either contest but Wood Warrington interests me more as it is two Brits who are at a high-level.

Warrington would be clutching there with ‘I lost better than you’. Every fight is different. Is Felix Cash better than Janibek for example because he stopped Bentley and Janibek didn’t?

Comparing fighters by how many rounds they went is straight out of the Conor Benn playbook.

No, but it shows that Warrington clearly isn't as shot as people originally thought.

Peaked with the Frampton fight 4.5 years ago and that was a shot Frampton. Looked crap ever since.

    100%

I have zero desire to see Wood-Warrington. Prefer to see a British champion that took a while to get to the top, try and stay there.

Very harsh mate. Although that was certainly his peak, he looked good in the Kiko Martinez 2 fight and against Takoucht. And did quite good in the Lopez fight

I agree the lopez fight was very close cant believe how much warrington being written off. Wood only has few fights left and financially warrington brings the biggest payday.

Warrington beat an absolutely weight drained at 126 version of Lee Selby after pushing the fight back about three years. Warrington, rather naively and stupidly said that Selby "looked like an Ethiopian" on the scales. He then did what he does and used his head and elbows to grind out a win in a fight where literally everything was stacked in his favour, if that fight took place in Wales, two or three years earlier, Selby would have made him looked silly, levels. Then he beat a shot Frampton. What he's done since those fights says it all about Warrington, I bought into the idea that he could be almost elite after the Frampton win but as the years go by it's all been proven that he fought the right people at the right time and the second he had opposition in their prime he wasn't good enough. While Frampton faded, Selby went up two weight classes, because he had to, and got robbed against a future Undisputed champion, watch the Kambosas fight back, he won that. Warrington was getting busy getting battered in his back garden by Lara, twice and headbutting to keep himself in it against Lopez. Warrington has been found out just like Okolie has.

Ye but what's the point. You've already said you are going to drop the belt rather than face Kholmatov. Might as well drop it now and just fight warrington for no belt. U might as well pocket the sanctioni fees.
Dont see the point myself, unless it's a ploy of course, to squeeze one more fight before a high risk defence. Then take the defence vs Kholmatov
