TO answer my post, i'll say right now he is 5th, behind rashad, rampage, lyoto and forrest.
A rematch with forrest or rampage could make him a top 3. I liked what I saw against chuck, good arsenal and patience. I hope he continue to improve his cardio and conditionning.

ahaha! Still think Yoshad will KO him in the first round?
On one side, I want Rashad to win to shut all the Lyoto nuthugger who think he can walk on water, and on the other side, I hate Rashad. It's hurting me:D But I think I want Rashad to win, just to see Rampage to knock him out CLEAN.

He's 6th give or take one position, 7th if Silva (Anderson) decides to move up to light heavyweight

Behind Griffin, Machida, Evans, Rampage, Dan Henderson,

I just can't stand blind nut huggin when the guy hasn't really achieved anything yet. It was same way with Vera. Nothin against the guy, it's the fans the put him up there with Fedor and A.Silva, guys who have dominated their weight division. While Machida hasn't beaten a single top5 yet...

Wow there is a lot of Rua band wagoners... yes his striking looked good against chuck and chuck may be out of his prime but his standup is still decent.

However his gas tank has not been answered and I don't think he can be ranked top 10 at the moment. There are quite a few people decisevly ahead of him, and a few wild cards he could be matched up with who may or may not win against him. He was at one point a god in the 205 division, when he went to the UFC to fight Forrest his stamina was shot. Then he had 2 knee surgeries and was off for a little under 2 years.

I hope he is back but that question is yet to be answered.

A list of people in no particular order who are currently higher than him:

    Forrest Griffin
    Lyoto Machida
    Rashad Evans
    Quinton Jackson
    Keith Jardine
    Thiago Silva

I think a could match up right now with him would be Brandon Vera.

Seriously, he should be ranked no higher than 5th at the moment, possibly 6th, (Hendo, Wandy, Anderson, and Jardine being wild cards), but it doesn't even matter, within a year he'll be fighting for the top spot, depending on who they match him up against possibly sooner. I think the old Shogun is back. I see him taking out Forrest or Rampage with ease, then at least descisioning Machida or Evans.
Not sure if him or Anderson would fight since they were both members of chute box.

The only people I see him losing to, realistically, are Rashad and Griffin, Lyoto can also win if he just runs in circle until round 3 and then he'll do w/e he wants to Shogun. If Lyoto tries to stand with Shogun from the get go he won't be walking out of the cage by himself.

I think Rampage take him out in a rematch IF he ****in decide to check leg kicks. Because Rua will rip his lead leg appart if he don't check them. I hope he will change that.

tbf he moved alot better against liddell and was bouncing round the ring in his last two fights before that he could hardly move at all and looked tired from the start.

Well at least Machida has shown what he could do against a good light heavyweight in Thiago Silva, he dominated him. Vera on the otherhand, hasn't done jack and has failed once he has stepped up in competition.

Yes Vera has done nothing, beating Mir is nothing. He's lost to Sylvia, Werdum, both have serious skills and if they came to the UFC they would be HW champions within a year. Fair enough Vera lost to Jardine and he should have beat Jardine, but Jardine's win of Vera is his biggest victory.

Vera is going to beat the hell out of Hamill on UF 102.

Hamill will beat Vera quite easily if he fight the way he should do. If he retry to be a kickboxer like vs Franklin then yes, Vera by TKO by round 2. I hope he go to the GROUND. Kos is praying for you to do so!
