why u dissing castillo? anyone who cleaned out their division deserve credit. casamayor, and corrales were both p4plber when castillo fought them. Most people don't give a rats ass about little guys but doesn't mean they don't deserve credit.

Maybe from a counterpuncher's perspective, but at the same time it's difficult to quantify.

I mean, fundamentaly yes, but at the same time if Roy Jones fought like a fundamental fighters, would he have been Roy Jones? Probably not, so how can you count that against him?

So you put this version of Floyd, not a big welterweight, and a counterpuncher in against a tall athletic boxer like Ali, and Ali wins a wide decision.

Tall boxers with great jabs are crytonite to smaller counterpunchers.

People that lived in that era and were alive to see Foreman vs Ali would get so mad at Tliang right now, they would probably try n smack the **** outta him.

I mean, this is the same George Foreman that came back 20 years later and became heavyweight champ.

first off ALI IS A TOP 5 ATG AT THE VERY WORST..I BELIEVE HE IS A #2 ATG ON MY LIST..FLOYD IS PROBABLY A TOP 35 ATG...TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION THOUGH ALI IS THE BETTER, MORE PROVEN, BETTER RESUME, MORE SKILLED (ARGUABLY) FIGHTER

anyone who thinks mayweather is better ali needs to stop basing their opinions off of boxrec and actually watch their fights.

Floyd is being considered as the most skilled fighter of this ear including all divisions. Can we say that in his era? hell ali doesn't even go to the body. SRL got better skill set than ali.

You mean the same guy widely regarded as the PFP #1 fighter of all time?

    You don't say...

And how many times did Floyd go to the body against Mosley?

Oh ****.......not that many.......uh, cuz he didn't have to.

    Neither did Ali.

"Ali doesn't go to the body"

Yes he did, he did early in his career a lot. Same jab to the body floyd uses.

hooks and uppercuts. Floyd fights in the pocket very well. against everyone he fought he works the body. And he landed a big uppercut to shane's solar plex. it is one of the game on esb forum's avatar. Floyd works plenty in the body. and another thing. Ali doesn't fight much in the pocket. He holds and goes right back to the outside. Ali doesn't have much of a defense either and rely on his footwork.

tliang give it up, ali>floyd any day of the week. No justification you can conjure up will ever make floyds resume better than ali's.
"Ali doesnt go to the body"...About as much as floyd does. Not much at all. He may stick a jab to the stomach once in a while but he is not a body puncher. That doesnt stop floyd from being great, doesnt stop ali either. You can argue on the basis of skill alone, mayweather is comparable to ali, but i'd still give it to ali. He danced, worked his jab better than arguably anyone in history, dropped that right hand with perfect form.
Again, resume alone, ali destroys floyd. Skills, its a closer competition.
Who cares that ali loss before in his career. Like I said before, look at both guys resume and ask yourself which fighter has more names on his resume of top guys in his division that he DIDNT fight. Floyd by a mile.

Who cares how well you pick fights, that has nothing to do with this debate. Ali's resume is better than Floyd's. The hell does that have to do with picking winners
