So Im sitting here watching Ali vs Foreman and it occurred to me....Max Baer could have done just as well against Ali as Foreman did. I don't see how anyone can disagree except to be contrary.

    Foreman lost.

I don't think he could have done much worse than that!

I think Max would've gone the distance, he had a good chin himself, but much better stamina than Foreman.

Baer would probably have lasted longer than Foreman, perhaps finishing on his feet, but he would have had a less coherent strategy.

He would not have imposed himself in the same way, and it might have looked like a less competitive losing effort.

He was way less powerful than Foreman. Ali would not have fought off the ropes as much. He would have boxed more. It would have been a different fight. Ali wins but Max lasts longer than Foreman and possibly goes the distance.

Yeah, I agree - Baer would last the distance but he wouldn't be close to winning this fight.

I can't say "way less powerful than Foreman". Max was a powerhouse

Ali would not have given Baer the same respect he gave Foreman. Ali would have busted Baer up badly

I don’t think Ali would have to fight off the ropes against Baer... I don’t think Ali would be as affected by the power of Baer as he was against Foreman. I think Baer with his Poor defense and telegraphed punches would be eating way too much leather against Ali.
