He sure could hit hard,but damn the refs in those days were cold ****ers were they not hehe,he would not stop the fights till max kind of refused to punch any more. Primo Carnera gets **** on a lot,but he was a huge and well built man,and god look at the punishment he took,and yet keeps on getting up for more,brave man in anyones book surley:good Look out for buddy baer as well singing with his bro,and oh yeah check the amount of back handers maxie throws hehe,man those times were rough as hell,i adore these old vids.:happy But the best bout is the fight against Schmeling,bloody hell he took a fearful beating,even looks bad with poor film and in black and white,would look brutal in colour with modern cameras,and to think schmeling lived to near 100 years old and only died 2 years back is astonishing. But seriously guys,maxie baer was a brutal puncher,and id fear for any guy he hit full on in the face,id personaly think he would stone cold KO the **** out of a lot of todays robots
I just like the sound of the name myself. Frankly, I doubt that there's any footage available on that fight, but the name sounds great.
