Dempsey certainly. A more reliable high-octane starter, with greater punch variety, more two-fisted power, & superior finishing skills. Baer could hit like nobody’s business & take a punch, but he lacked somewhat in precision finishing. Dempsey was plenty tough & would probably survive a scare if needed. I don’t think that will apply in reverse.

    KO4.

Agree but not with KO4. Baer was completely shut out and broken down against Louis. His spirit was crushed more than his body, he could have clearly stood up from the last knockdown but he knew there was nothing else to do.

Against Dempsey he would be more competitive as Dempsey would take the fight to him rather than grind him down with jabs and stay at range. This would be much more suited to Baer's style who loved to slug it out.

Baer would go out from severe damage to his face rather than desperation.

    KO between 7-10
