This is the match-up you folks are looking for. Because Baer is not a prototype for Foreman or Liston or anyone else you mention. He is the prototype for, a poor man's version of, James Bonecrusher Smith.

The Baer who beat Schmeling vs. the guy who put together a win streak against Bey, Ferguson, Weaver and WItherspoon.

    15 rounds.

Crude sloppy Baer tries swinging with Crusher. Down goes Baer. Gets up. Gets down. Gets up. Gets down. Stays down.

I think you're being really biased here. Baer tries swinging with Crusher. Down goes Baer. He's not getting up Jim. It happened, it happened. The end.

I've read on this board that Baer was terrified of the much smaller Joe Louis and had to be coaxed into the ring and then he froze. How many people would it take to get him into the ring with a guy as physically impressive as Bonecrusher? If Baer got into the ring, I'd give him about 30 seconds if he fought, and about 5 seconds if he froze.

So he'd be scared of Bonecrusher because of his physical assets yet wasn't scared one little bit by Carnera who was even more physically impressive than Smith?

Maybe the fact he'd seen how good Louis was with his fists had him nervous going in. Again Smith is less impressive in that aspect so Baer likely wouldn't give a stuff about Bonecrusher and meets him head on.

Baer by KO, Smith wouldn't trouble him that much. You need good jab, quickness and fast footwork to beat prime Baer.

Not to mention that his hands were injured in Louis fight.

Baer fought and beat many fighters bigger than himself. Smith wouldn't be anything he didn't face before.

Oh, is Baer carrying an injury for this fight?

This thread makes a lot more sense now.

At his best, Bone could take a punch and definitely give one. Baer had the power as well. However, I am taking Bonecrusher by 5th round kayo. Something tells me he could pull it off.

Smith was a big guy but zero real ability and lacking the fighting heart of a champion. Baer knocks him out.

I came to your house because I MUST take you out to SEA, but you didn't answer the door.

Anyway, I think Baer knocks him out.
