One of the five worst title holders in history when plenty of guys get title shots and even become champions without beating one decent fighter today? What are basing that on? Also, Carnera struggled with mobile guys that had quick hand and feet, since they were hard to land on, but against big targets like himself Carnera did very well. Carnera actually beat a lot of good fighters and regularly fought good competition, which rarely happens today. Tommy Loughran and plenty of other guys that Carnera beat would easily be top 10 heavyweights today. Here are 6 guys that didn’t defend their titles successfully even once, so I don’t see how they’d be superior champions to Carnera. Fury - 0 defenses Briggs - 0 defenses Michael Moorer - 0 defenses Douglas - 0 Defenses Braddock - 0 defenses Leon Spinks - 0 defenses Carnera like Foreman made two defenses of his title and then got destroyed. Baer worked Carnera over like he was a plate a ribs and Ali did the same to Foreman.
Five he probably beats: Tommy Burns Jack Sharkey (hard to argue) Jimmy Braddock Leon Spinks Michael Moorer Five he was unequivocally greater than: Marvin Hart Jimmy Braddock Leon Spinks Michael Moorer Shannon Briggs when we start getting into alphabet belt holders, you could fill a bus with them!
Hard to choose just five out of the Gang Starr and Group Home albums alone! (This joke won’t go far in this forum but I couldn’t resist, sorry).
I disagree .. Hart could pound out a decision. Spinks would be way too fast for him. Moorer would tear his head off . I'm no fan of Briggs but unless he has an asthma attack in the ring, a possibility, he wins .. Braddock possible if ref let's him hug and hold.
Probably loses them all with no Defense, his huge haymakers, if he hit anyone they could go out, but he would be lucky to do so.
Baer had a Holmes like jab...? If You're going to troll, know your audience. You're better off convincing me samuel peter had Roy jones level reflexes. But by all means show me an example of sugar max Baer's amazing Holmes like jab.
