Sorry I thought you meant beat, my mistake, I don't think Comiskey was ranked when Baer beat him.Baer beat Comiskey in September 1940 Comiskey is ranked no 9 in December of that year,he may have been ranked earlier but its difficult to see why he would have been,he had beaten no name fighter.
If you include him that comes to 13 times and he lost 7 of them.
Williams faced 6 top ten ranked fighters, one of them Liston twice . He lost 4 of them 1 when he was a 20years old last minute substitute,and he drew1.

 

Baer lost to Farr,Braddock.Abbott,Risko ,Uzcudun,Kennedy, Davies, Nova x2

When was he ever consistent?

 

And they were very good fighters.
Williams lost to very good fighters too, when he fought them.

But where are the celebrated wins on Williams ledger that compare to Baer?

 

So by your admission Williams is 2-4 against rated contenders? Was it as good as that?

 

You are not telling the truth which is as polite as I can be given that you deny filmed evidence and a recorded interview. There was a count of 4 and Kessler and Rocky both forgot there was no standing8 count in title fights.

Well seeing as he drew with Machen, beat Miteff and Daniels 2X ALL rated at the time he faced them, this isn't true and you know it.

 

He seems to be specializing in untruths lately ,it's not really worth giving him the credibility of engaging with him.

 

Miteff and Daniels are two guys. You want to to make it 3 because Williams fought one of them twice? How about we count Mac foster and Sonny twice as well? And include the loss to champ Ali.

 

Seeing as Baer didn't beat Louis, no.

 

Actually, he fought Farr twice, I forgot about his win and I believe that Farr was ranked both times. That gives us 7-7 record.

How about Risko? Was he ranked in any of their fights?

Either way, the difference is huge.

 

I know he fought Farr twice Farr outpointed him in the UK and Max beat him in the US in a wonderful performance recapturing his old form to do so.It should be noted though that Farr never won any of his 5 fights in the US .Risko was unranked.

Correction Risko may have been ranked,for their 2nd fight which Baer won.

 

Cleveland was just the sort of guy that Tony Galento knocked out. And a past prime Baer stopped Tony.
