I'd go for Floyd having too much speed for him. I don't think Baer was very good, of course if he could land the big right hand he could stop Floyd but even then Patterson was the type you'd have to nail to the canvas. He might visit the canvas once or twice but I think Floyd puts a beat down on Baer, and wins by wide UD.
Floyd would stop him late, around tenth. Max would drop Patterson a couple of times, but Floyd turns it around to score a spectacular ko.
Max would eventually KO Patterson. It would be a great fight until Patterson slows enough for one of those right hand Bombs catch him. I don't think Patterson get past 8 rounds, Maxs size and power would keep Patterson on his toes, and I don't think Patterson has what it takes to knock Baer out. Eventually he will stand and fight Max, Game over for Patterson.
Baer had a top chin I dont see Floyd stopping him, whereas Ingo ko'd Floyd and floored him multiple times .I think Max would find him sooner or later.
Patterson might cut him up and pepper him for a few rounds. But i remember it took Patterson several rounds to do away with Hurricane Jackson and Brian London, and Baer's durability was on another level to theirs. He'd catch Floyd sooner or later. Most fighters did many to hit Floyd, and several floored him.
I'm going with Baer, unless he had three blondes for breakfast the day of the fight. Better chin, harder/stronger puncher.
Although certainly Baer could KO Patterson if he hit him right, I think the gulf in skills here is vast. And, if Patterson fought a disciplined fight, he would outpoint Baer.
Yeah but Patterson would have to do nothing but everything right. Even so, I would be looking for Patterson to decision Baer.
Baer by KO. I see a decisive, one-sided win for Max. He was like Ingo with the thundering right, but a chin of iron to go with it. One round, maybe two.
