In my opinion,Gene has a realitivly easy night. The Fighting Marine would move in and out and side to side using the Jab,and Footwork to great effect, avoiding Maxs' lethal Right, while deftly throwing counter Rights of his own.Tunney 15rd. UD.

Baer knocks his block off. Fighters of the 1930's were by far the greatest of all time. Doesn't everybody know this?

1970's were the best in heavyweight.

    No they weren't.

If you look at the records of fighters from the 30's, they had far more losses indicating better competition and more experience. Plus they were tyspically a lot smaller, losing the extra uneeded bagage.

Baer has a very live chance. tunney never faced a heavyweight anywhere near the size of baer, let alone with a big heavyweight of baers class and punching power.

tunney kept his hands very low and had virtually no inside figting skills. tunney was adapt at keeping the smaller fighters with short reach at a distance and controlling them for 10 rounds, but would he be able to do this with a man of baers size and reach? who knows

Suzie, please don't let your dislike for Tunney cloud your judgement. This is Max Ber We're talking about. MAX BAER!! There's no way he could beat Tunney. He barely got past Kingfish Levinsky!

Old Jim Braddock gave Baer a Boxing lesson,as did Loughran.I have no doubt Tunney would do the same, over 10 or 15.
