CHISORA IS 6FT 1 1/2IN WITH A 74 IN REACH. BAER WAS 6FT 2 1/2IN WITH AN 8I IN REACH YOU COME TO BURY BAER.NOT TO PRAISE HIM
Joyce mashes him up. Baer didn't have the punch to hurt JJ imho, and neither does he have the chin to take Joyce's slow, but relentless attack all night. Let's not forget that Baer is a dreadful boxer and that he makes Chisora look like Willie Pep. If there are going to be exchanges all night long I'll take the 270lb guy over the 220lb guy.
yeah he's even older than me (73). The ONLY attribute that Joyce has in his favor is his chin. Yes, Baer could hit hard with that right, but I think Joyce would survive Max's onslaughts to win a decision.
I’m picking the clown prince of boxing. I don’t like Max in a lot of modern matchups but this one’s right up his alley. I find it odd so many think size is a problem for Max. He ate up the bigger guys. He had a problem w slick faster guys.
Gotta be honest, Joyce has a granite chin and better technique but he is slow as a glacier. I gotta give Max a decent chance here. Not sure if Big Bang ruined Joe or exposed him. If the former is true, then I pick prime Joe over Max. If the latter, then Max wins this.
He got knocked out 3 times by guys that barely weighed 200lb. If he had a decent defence it might be another story but I don't see Baer taking flush shots from a 280lb guy with a 90% ko record all night. I agree with Seamus that Joyce is as fast as a speeding glacier but Baer's defence is abysmal. Joyce is on the same chin-first defence plan and we can see that it doesn't work when taking repeated flush punches from bangers that are the same size.
One of the three times he was knocked out was against the greatest heavyweight of all time and the consensus best puncher of all time when that guy was having his best performance, the other time he was stopped by a cut inside the mouth in a fight he was otherwise very competitive in, and the third time he was stopped in his last ever match while being way out of shape. These stoppages could have happened to anyone. Baer's chin was pure granite, even when he was stopped against Louis he was fully conscious and made the decision to quit. The flush punches he took in that fight would've knocked out any 250+ lbs guy who didn't have a chin comparable to Baer's.
