Look, I don't want to be on bad terms with anybody. Second, I don't mind learning stuff from people, whether they be myth-following fans or experienced scholars of boxing like yourself. I know a lot about boxing, but I don't mind talking to people who will always know more than I do. Just leave the attitude behind. No one wants to learn or talk to someone who carries an air of superiority about them, and tried to exclude other people and make them look dumb. And I'll say it, even if you knew more about boxing than any other person, you could still not know something that a brand-new fan might know.

 

Hunting you up? This wasnt even your thread. As a film collector Im always interested in film threads. 70sfan posted, you replied with some information which was incorrect. I corrected you to save him from potentially purchasing a mislabeled film. If you have a problem then check your facts before you speak rookie. Or waste your money, its no matter to me, but I'll post the correct information when I like and you wont do **** about it.

 

I didn't tell him stuff as if I was confident about it. I let him know that the ringwise info was not from first hand experience. "Rookie"? It's usually the guys that just got introduced to Tyson and boxing just last week that stoop to insults. tisk tisk

 

Where was the attitude in what I said. I stated nothing but facts, vanilla, with no attitude. If you get butt hurt because you posted something wrong and somebody else corrected you then I suggest you get a thicker skin. Like I said above, if you think Im wrong about anything I stated above then take your allowance, go buy those films, and get back to me. I'll be waiting here to be corrected.

 

It's nothing with what you said, or ever say, it's about the motive behind the correction. You seem to enjoy correcting people just because you like making them look bad.

 

This is my initial post:

"The first Levinsky fight wasnt filmed. Wherever you saw that mentioned somebody probably got confused and called the second fight the first and their exhibition in Chicago which was filmed their second. Most lists refer to these as Baer-Levinsky 2 and Baer-Levinsky 3 (exh). Since technically their third meeting was an exhibition but Baer got angry and knocked Levinsky out. The Uzcudan fight film runs about 8 mins at the correct speed but the first two minutes or so footage of the undercard so theres really only about six minutes of the fight. Its a home movie taken from ringside by a spectator that jumps around quite a bit."

So dont pretend I came on here insulting anyone until you popped off.

 

So I should have a more pained response when I correct something? You took an innocuous post about fight films and felt I took too much joy in the discussion? Just quit while you are ahead.

 

Ok, I didn't know that about the fights, even though i knew that fought two pro fights and one as an exhibition. But what leads me to believe you had bad intentions is cuz you were nowhere to be found until all the sudden I say that. Looks bad on your part.

 

C'mon, you know you've done this before. Remember the Cleveland Williams discussion the other day. That was not a fun-spirited conversation.

 

I was nowhere to be found because I dont live on this forum. I have a life and posted when I saw the post. Nothing more and nothing less. As for the Cleveland Williams thread I dont think I was anymore heated or anymore mean spirited than anyone else. I just think you dont like it because you come on here constantly after relatively recently talking about getting into this hobby, state things categorically ("Ive seen all of Cleveland Williams' filmed fights." "Max Baer Levinsky 1 was filmed, Max Baer-Uzcudan runs 15 mins" etc, I could go on) and then get irritated when its pointed out that your enthusiasm (which I admire) has allowed your ass to overload your mouth. When I post to correct ANYTHING, Ive noticed its almost never for the benefit or denigration of the poster Im correcting but for the other people who might read that post and take it as fact. So when you post the above and 70sfan believes you and I correct that to save him the trouble you can either sit back and learn something or you can get defensive. You chose the latter.

 

I truly appreciate you wanting to correct mistakes. I don't want to go around preaching up all kinds of false information, I just think don't think you should be so aggressive about correcting people.
