The Baer that beat Schmeling vs the Moorer that beat Holyfield or Stewart?

I'm going to put cash on Moorer by points. There's a small chance I might lose it if Baer catches him, but I don't think so.

Baer puts Moorer to sleep at some point.

He was a more dangerous puncher than Old foreman or Tua.

Moorer walks into the right hand. He was a good fighter and a good puncher himself but he was an agressive southpaw with a shaky chin and Baer was a right hand puncher.
If Baer can take the punishment and keep trying I think he gets Moorer eventually.

Moorer was the better more well rounded fighter though imo. It's just that the styles are not in his fabor

    Yes.

Baer built his reputation as a puncher against legitimate contenders.

Tua built his against men ranked outside the top ten.

It depends on which one can stay focused longer. My bet is Moorer gets to comfortable and gets lazy, then Max whacks him out.

    Kinda like Foreman did.

The major chink in Moorer's armor was his chin. Like most on here have said, Baer's going to get him eventually.

Number of rounds could be relevant here, too. A ten round fight, Moorer may be able to steal a decision. A 12-15 round fight might favor Baer.

Moore makes him look like an absolute fool for most fo the fight. Which would be nothing new for Baer. However, Moore would eventually get too brave or lack the appropriate caution and get sparked.

Unlike some others on this site, I can actually use my eyes pretty well when observing old Maxie poo

    That is your mistake.

What you should be thinking is "OK this guy threw the rule book out of the window, so why exactly was he so successful?"

Could go either way ... favor Moorer but if highly motivated and focused Baer could dent that chin ...

Old Foreman had drive and focus over an entire fight that Baer, even in victory lacked. Look how he let Schmeling and Carnera back into fights seemingly out of boredom.

I certainly don't think he was a more dangerous puncher than Tua who was much, much faster and a better two handed hitter.
