Yes he was a class above both.

Old Foreman, and Tua, built their credentials against B grade fighters.

Baer built his credentials, against men ranked in the top ten, both in his prime and after it!

Neither Old Foreman, nor Moorer, was in Baer's class, at his brilliant best!

Baer's right finds Moorer's china chin, the referee counts, and everybody goes home earlier than expected.

    No. No he was not.

Moorer had excellent boxing skills and probably was fairly adept at slipping and countering a right hand thrown from the county breadline. The shots that got him were compact, right down the pipe. If Baer can muster something like that, his chances are good.

Moorer thru hard, fast and educated combos, the type that had left Max bewildered against Louis. If he gets Baer on the end of his rope, it could goodnight for Max.

My prediction is the 12th bell never sounds.

You honestly just make things up. Baer’s Post title opposition was horrific. His big wins over a shot Galento and a decision over a tough but often bested Farr.

Baer knocks him out, probably before the 5th. Baer had an IRON chin, and hits more than hard enough to dent Moorer's glass jaw.

I wouldn't really feel comfortable using the term class in relation to Baer to be honest.

You must have missed Max Baer snapping jab that he sometimes doubled and tripled up and his fast footwork to move him in and out of range and his Holyfield like combination punching!!!

Max Baer though wasn't known for his extreme accuracy so that could be a factor. Basically, Baer has strength and power on his side while Moorer has skill and being a really good southpaw and his punching power wasn't so bad either.

Moorer's poor ring intelligence + porous chin, and power? He couldn't even deck a "heart smitten" Evander Holyfield...so what's he gonna do to Max Baer?

I don't think his power was too shabby at heavy. He did manage to stop Stewart and Bert Cooper, both whom he had on the deck. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Cooper didn't go down vs Mercer and Stewart stayed upright against Holyfield and was able to recover quite well against old Foreman.

Although when Moorer started moving into the path of Foreman's right hand I thought to myself "what the hell is he doing. He's going the wrong way"

Red, you lighted on something I had forgotten about with Moorer. He had that Joe Bugner/set a fire under his stool type of passivity. I always recall during his first fight with Holyfield, how Teddy Atlas was screaming at him to get going. Although some of Teddy's antics were a bit over the top, he was spot on when he said between rounds what all of us were thinking, "You've got to start fighting, there's something wrong with that guy."

They are still better than the people that Tua was beating.

If you want to make an issue of it, we can compare Baer's best wins after he lost the title, to Tua's best over his entire career.

I guarantee that Baer comes out on top!
