I also can guarantee you that Moore is vastly more skilled than Max Baer

It depends what you men by skilled.

If you mean technical perfection, then everybody significant that Baer beat, was probably more skilled than him!

If you mean natural talent, then Baer is the kind of fighter that comes along once in two generations!

I am fond of both guys, but I am going with Moorer. Sure, he had his vulnerabilities, but I think his skill set was far above Baer's. I think he'd bust Max up and stop him within 10.

Yes, that's right scar,...and you combine that lack of urgency with that ponderous, "circle the wrong way" lack of ring IQ...hell, even Tommy Morrison knew what script to follow vs Old George...and MM's generally well known fragile mandible,..it spells disaster vs Baer...and I don't care that Maxie wasn't the most sophisticated practitioner of the noble art,...he would have been buoyed by the confidence that Moorer wouldn't be harming him....and all it would take would be one well torqued, overhand right to put Michael in a coma.

Moorer would do well to utilize every advantage being a southpaw would give him.

Only thing is that Moorer didn't hit hard as Joe Louis

Moorer is remembered for his brutal ko losses to Tua and Foreman . But he had incredibly fighting spirit rising off the canvas 5 x against Holyfield and wild shoot out with Bert Cooper . Expect another shootout with Baer coming out on top via ko mid rds after multiple knock downs.

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again Max is one of my favorite fighters to watch like a previous poster said he kind of threw the rule book out the window. His defensive skills were primitive. Either that or he didn’t care lol even saying that Max has a chance but he probably gets out pointed.

I have to roll with Moorer. I think he was the better all around fighter than Baer. I hear the argument about Moorer's chin but the reality is he was knocked out by arguably the hardest hitter of all time (Foreman) and Tua who also destroyed a lot of durable heavyweights. There is certainly no shame in being knocked out by those two. He showed tons of heart climbing off the floor against Holyfield and Bert Cooper and was dominant at Light Heavy.

I really think Moorer belongs in the hall of fame but the fact that he never got to fight the best at Light Heavy and those two tough losses to Foreman and Tua out weigh his accomplishments to a lot of folks. Light Heavy champ, Two time heavyweight champ (first southpaw heavyweight champ. He was damn good.

    Moorer wins for me.

Well, if he keeps his mind straight, which he frequently didn't.

I don't think many could beat Baer near his best without a very good chin

The Schmeling fight was a real stand out performance for Baer
