Baer is not able to give Walker a methodical beatdown like Schmeling did, however, he is bigger, stronger and a harder puncher than Schmeling he will try to impose this on Walker who will try to outspeed and outfox him. Walker will have some success there but how it goes down depends on a lot. If you have a Mickey at his best against a clowning Baer this may go all the way and Walker even might get the upset. If Baer is motivated it doesn´t really matter which Walker shows up. It depnds on the ref though, if he is like the one in the Schmeling fight and Walker is motivated and fights the right fight, he may survive before it get´s halt.
The Baer of the Schmeling fight likely destroys Mickey. A clean KO would be best for everyone because if Walker shows the heart he did against Schmeling and keeps getting up Max could kill him and I'm not being flippant saying that. A half hearted Baer still beats him but could be made to eat some leather and lose some rounds before the inevitable stoppage late.
I am presuming both are at their best. You are right it would not be a methodical beat down , because Baer hit harder than Schmeling ,and was not as patient or cautious. After Mickey samples a few full blooded over hand rights, he topples over , or is rescued by the referee.
Not a good fight for Walker. Baer, with his head screwed on right, would seriously hurt Walker, who would be to brave for his own good. Baer by a near beheading in 3.
I think Walker has a hell of a shot to frustrate and decision the wild thinking and swinging Baer ... Schmeling was highly disciplined and punched with straight, pin point accuracy .. Baer never threw a straight combination in his life .. of course Baer would be favored but I see Walker as a very live under dog, using speed and combination punching to possibly steal a decision ..
