Max late. Probably losing early in a brawl. But def a bit of a toss up. Could very well be a Lyle decision if he can survive to the end…if it’s 15 rounds Max definitely
Foreman didn't show much skills in Lyle fight. He also didn't fight in two years and was very rushed.
It was near 16 months that he did not fight, & the last one was the farce of facing 5 Journeymen in a row in Montreal.
This made me laugh out loud Young would’ve won every round over the plodding Carnera who wouldn’t have landed a punch. It would make Young’s bouts with Lyle look like a genuinely competitive back and forth affair. Quarry would’ve sat back, and effortlessly counterpunched Carnera into a mid-round Knockout (generous to Carnera) without being in anything even remotely resembling troubling. Let’s get real.
Even so, the man missed most of his shots and didn't have great stamina. Lyle didn't have the best stamina either, but it was close to Bart's, and Lyle was far more accurate a puncher. Most of Baer's biggest fights are on film. Either he knocks a guy out with a big punch or flurry, or he totally ****s it up. But Lyle gave hell to the best if a fat superior heavyweight era, and even beat some of them. I would make Lyle a significant favorite. Baer would give him a tough fight, but gets stopped around 8 or 9. Baer really has no chance of winning.
Tough tough fight here. I'm a very big Lyle fan but I see this as a real street fight. I give Baer a 60/40 edge
Lyle is much better technically, and he hits hard, replay of Louis vs baer, Lyle ko's him in 5-6 rounds.
