A focused, ready and "on" Max Baer stops all three....Chuvalo might be on his feet at the end, but he would be on the verge of being killed...same with Cobb....no guarantee that either man would avoid tasting the canvas...I think he would do away with Moore as soon as he connected with a big right hand. Chuvalo and Cobb because they would have zero, as in "0" in the way of offensive output to phase Maxie, and Moore would be way too small and easily ko'ed to be a serious opponent. Kust imagine what a fully detonated Baer right hand would have done to Archie.

I think you might be right here.
I feel it's always necessary to add this disclaimer concerning Baer...that everything depends on whether he was "ON" for a particular fight in question...and if he was indeed "ON", he would be one formidable force to reckon with...and he would have been waaay too formidable for the three opponents named in this thread.

Baer and Cobb would be completely outgunned...with absolutely zero, as in "0" offensive capabilities to threaten Baer, and Moore would have been waaay too small...and can you just imagine what a fully detonated Baer right hand would have done to Archie? Sooner or later Baer would have connected....and Moore wasn't at all as defensively committed and elusive as Tommy Loughran was, to name a similarly sized opponent that actually fought Baer.
I think Cobb and Chuvalo were the types Baer feasted on. They both were tough enough to possibly go ten, but I think Baer would end up with the decision. He is much more likely to crack their jaws than vice versa. I think Moore would be a real problem. He was the type of fighter who generally gave Baer problems both before and after he was champion, a really clever boxer and a good defensive fighter. I don't buy that Baer would simply be "too big." Moore beat a lot of men as big as Baer such as Valdes, Baker, and Lavorante, among others. He was actually very effective against the big guys. His problems generally were with the smaller, quicker guys. So I don't see size alone winning this one for Baer. I agree with the poster who emphasized that Baer was so in and out that a lot depends on which Baer shows up. The Baer of the Schmeling fight might prove too much for Archie, but the Baer of the Loughran, Braddock, Farr, Nova, etc. fights? I don't think so. My bottom line would be that more often than not Moore outpoints Baer. *just on the size question, I went through Moore's record on fightsrec and he had 15 fights with men 209 lbs. or more. Moore went 15-0 with 10 KO's. Baer might indeed have been a better big man, but he certainly wasn't too big off the record for Moore.
