There is no fighter on there that a prime Max Baer could not possibly be favored over. Say what you will about his crudeness, he could brute force his way through.

I can actually agree with that, but the problem with Baer is that he wasn't motivated and he'd lose to bunch of lesser fighters that Liston destroyed. I'd actually pick motivated Baer to beat Patterson, but he'd probably lose to someone like Machen.

I love Baer but he wasn't as good as Liston.

You have a point. But Baer at his best would be fearsome

Baer looks terrible on film. He doesn’t even finish well. His power could get him wins over Folley and Patterson, if motivated but that’s a big if.

I guess you could turn the question back to who on Baers resume could Liston not beat?

Baer lost to Louis and Liston lost to Ali, can't see either of those of course being beaten by the other.

Liston would beat all of Max Baers WINS. At least I suspect he would. I do think Max would lose to 64-67 Muhammad Ali.

I think Max at his best would stop both.

At his best be would beat everybody that Liston beat, but in practice he would have found a way to lose to somebody.

Max Baer couldn't beat all the fighters on his own resume, never mind someone else's.

The thought of either Baer beating Patterson is funny.

I disagree, peak Maxie would probably stop Patterson.

Patterson might have been greater than Baer, but Baer could probably have turned up drunk and beaten Patterson!

If Patterson can turn boxer vs Moore or Ingo, he can pull a Braddock on Baer.

Braddock is the worst Baer's filmed performance, I wouldn't use that version of him. Besides, Braddock fought much differently than Floyd and he was more durable by far.
