I'd favour Floyd over him. And probably Folley. Williams would be interesting.

Floyd was only KO'd once in a total of six fights with Moore, Ingo and Quarry, so he wasn't that easy to KO.

I wouldn't favor Folley. Williams would be a slugfest and would probably go either way but I would just about favour the best Baer.

Not really! He is a bit superior but he is not Louis/Ali type superior than Baer!
He is superior in jab department and left while Baer is superior at right hand,defense,offense,stamina,chin...
Liston is a bit more skilled but just in terms of jab!
Easy night for Liston?Didiston had easy night with Williams and Leotis Martin?
Well guess what Baer hit harder than both, had better chin and stamina also than both of them!

First off he was about 50 when he fought Martin in a fight he was winning handily up until then. He beat a prime Williams didnt he lol. Baer lost to the likes of Risko Bradock Lou Nova × 2.
He quit against Louis who he was also terrified of. If he was terrified of Louis he might not even show up for Liston. Baer a better defensive fighter? Dont make me laugh Liston forgot more about defense than Baer ever had. Better chin? He certainly didnt prove it in the Louis fight while Liston fought with a broken jaw. Baer is little more than a club fighter who happends to have a punch. A crude wild punch but still a punch. If feather fisted Tommy Laughren who weighted 175 and only had a jab could make Baer look like a fool what do you think Liston would do to him. Come on man dont let your love of Baer clowd your judgment

Yes, I do. Williams has a 30 pound plus weight advantage, half a foot or more in height, is faster, stronger, a harder puncher, AND a better boxer. Not to mention Marciano is going to be coming right at him which plays right in the hands of The Big Cat and would be to brave for his own good. I'd also pick Marciano to lose to Bruno, Ruddock, Lyle, and maybe Shavers for similar reasons.

He wasn't50 years old he was 37 years old when he fought Martin in 1969 and that was just a rummor about his age whoch was proven as a fake thing! He won 3 rounds against Martin and Maetin won every other round! He beat a prime Williams who was knocked by LHW Satterfield and beaten by Terell!
Baer lost against Risko/Nova who were champions and contender and Liston lost against LHW Marty Marshall who was not even a journeymam and Leotis Martin=bum!
He quit against Louis because he was not intimidated but his hand was broken and he couldn't fight with one hand but still put a good fight when was old, past prime, smoker and woth broken hand...he wanted rematch but Louis declined!
Liston quit against Ali not once but twice! And he didn't have broken hands but even cheated!
Baer was not intimidated by Louis but couldn't put anything more because pain in his hands!
Baer defense was much better than Liston...Baer could use a cross guard and crab defemse but what did Liston did except hiding behind his jab?
Baer chin is much better! How many times was Baer counted?Just once and Liston was counted 3 times! He fought with broken jaw but you forgott that he quit against Ali twice and even cheated shows everything about his heart you trying to defend with that broken jaw!
Baer heart and chin are far superior!
If Tommy Lughren who is HOFamer and one of the best LHW beat Baer by UD....But what if bum Marty Marshall could make Liston look stupid and is a bum what would them Baer do to him?
Tommy>>>>>>>>Marshall! And Bear beat him easier than Liston did against no name Marshall!
Thomas Patrick Loughran (November 29, 1902 – July 7, 1982) was an American professional boxer and the former World Light Heavyweight Champion. Statistical boxing website BoxRec lists Loughran as the #7 ranked light heavyweight of all time, while The Ring Magazine founder Nat Fleischer placed him at #4.[1][2] The International Boxing Research Organization rates Loughran as the 6th best light heavyweight ever.
And Marshall beat Liston!Marshall is not Tommy!
Tommy beat Sharkey,Paolino,Godoy,Levisnky,Walker,Schaaf,Braddock,Carpentier....and beat Baer unlike Marshall who beat who?
Baer would beat Liston...better chin, heart, punch and stamina!

Theres really no point in continuing a conversation with someone who lives on fantasy island. Bear was a club fighter with a punch nothing more. Goodbye

This club fighter with a punch beat a lot of strong contenders. Nobody could accomplish as much as Baer relying only on a punch.

Could Baer beat all of Liston's opponents? Possibly. The issue is could he remained disciplined and focused for that entire run? I doubt it. He had more than a dozen losses in his own era, sometimes to men who weren't nearly as good as Liston's best opponents. He was well know for clowning around inside and outside the ring.

If he got outboxed by a small heavily shopworn Braddock who had frequent severe hand injuries I don't see why it's a guarantee he'd beat cagey prime guys like Machen or Folley. I'd favor Baer over both but by no means would it be a walk in the park, and if he didn't bring his A game he could easily drop a decision. Valdez and Williams would be stiff opposition as well. I certainly don't see him having an easy time with Patterson in a 2 part back to back clash when Patterson was known for being even better in rematches. The closest thing Baer saw to Patterson's hand speed and technique was Louis and it terrified him.

Then You have to factor Baer continuing to fight long past his prime all over Europe and facing a hungry motivated Martin as an older fighter. I just don't see such an inconsistent and undisciplined fighter having a perfect undefeated record even in this average era, which arguably had more young talent in terms of quality over quantity than the very dry post WW2 era full of shopworn 30 year olds and light heavies (and he struggled even in that era).

People seem to be looking at this as though Baer is in perfect condition at his best for every fight and not aging or losing motivation. If he is being offered radio and movie deals like in the current time line I see this becoming more and more of an issue. The reality is Baer was a very sloppy guy who got by on his thunderous power and being so durable he could tank what most opponents could dish out and turn the tables on them. He had some skill obviously, but if he was criticized in his own era for lacking finesse it would be illogical to pretend as though he wouldn't be relatively easy to outbox by a skilled ranked fighter.

I completely disagree. Study Baer's record and history before such definitive statements .. the man was lovable, colorful, a good puncher but a very limited fighter ..
