Max Holloway vs Khabib Nurmagomedov new main event for UFC 223

Max Holloway stepping in for Tony Fergerson whos fight with Khabib has been cancelled for like the 3rd or 4th time they have tried making the fight lol, Holloway has some balls for stepping in on short notice against a monster like Khabib.

 

Hopefully Holloway gets paid well for stepping up and it would have to be 1 of the best perfomances ever if he can beat Khabib and add the lightweight title on 6 days notice, between them I believe they are on a 21 fight win streak in the UFC.

 

Yeah I agree I don't like it either really, there was a couple other ranked lightweights on the card plus some on the upcoming cards who could have stepped in, I'm not 100% sure but I believe James Vick offered to step in and that would have been decent.

I don't see much hope of Holloway winning but I have even more respect for him for stepping in against Khabib

 

Ferguson got injured when he seen a friend apparently and turned and tripped over

 

While I believe Khabib will win I was just reading Holloway hasn't been taken down since 2014 and since then he has stopped all 27 attempts from his opponents which is very impressive.
While its unlikely Holloway can stop all of Khabibs TD attempts, if he can stop most of them and the majority of the fight is standing he will be able to beat Khabib but I have major concerns for Holloway in the later rounds of this fight.

 

Yeah steel pipes I think it was but to be fair to Tony I think out of the 4 times the fight between them has been cancelled its been 2 times each one of them has had an issue of some kind.

 

Yeah after they get there hands on a NFL franchise I could see them potentially buying it back in a couple years from IMG for way less then they sold it if things dont improve.
