GGG could of done better maybe it his age but I think it's down to canelo being a big strong middleweight with a serious chin and elite level skills. So really any criticism of GGG is an insult to canelo.

GGG has never made himself out to be this monster the media and fans have. He wanted to face the best, eventually the best grew some balls and faced him. He is 35 now too. Should be no surprise to see it not being so easy against the elite. Still winning though.

OP makes some good points. I never thought GGG is the second coming of SRR, but he is still a contemporary great, one of the current elite fighter and deserve his lofty status in the All time middleweight ranking discussion.

I like Kellerman passion and deep knowledge of the sport.
But last Saturday made me lose a bit of respect for him. He sat on the fence together with the rest of the HBO crews defending the draw verdict not wanting to upset the power to be. Also when Canelo said he clearly won 7 rounds, Kellerman said nothing but acknowledging as it was a fact while the rest of the world see otherwise. Larry Merchant would have roasted the red head querying how do you supposed to do that fighting only 30 minutes of every round and getting outwork on the ropes. I think Golden Boy does have great influence on HBO.

Kellerman is a true company *****. His post fight interview was horrible, so I'm not surprised to see the nonsense continue now. Something tells me he wouldn't have interviewed Sweet Pea like he lost when they gifted Julio the draw.

Bottom line is the old dog who didn't impress him out boxed a P4P fighter at his peak that happens to be 8 years younger.

Max and the golden boy crew don't have to like it. Ironic because Hopkins went from being one to fight the system to being just another pawn for it.

It's funny the fighters that proved the hatters wrong and moved up in weight and kept winning like Ward Mayweather are the ones getting hate, but their son GGG häs to fight against welterweight fighters moving up and cant even move up 2 weight classes to shut the critics up and prove how good he is , That's hilarious, this is what boxing has become .

All they and us are asking him is to prove himself and live up to the hype like they did. If you are this monster that you and the some fans say you are and prove it like we did time and time again.

Hell Ward is talking about moving up to cruiserweight and heavyweight LOL talk about proving himself, dam his resume is already great , this is what ALL TIME greats do. Hype jobs or good fighters don't do this greats do this.

Just like Sweet Pea when he could only muster a draw vs faded Chavez and got schooled by Oscar.

    Judges don't lie, right?

Hard to impress when your opponent is running the entire night.

You perceived this as some great comeback. Judges lie as do punchstats and wwe fans posing as boxing fans. Sorry John Cena is fake.

Max Kellerman's kind should have went extinct in the late 90s.

I do think GGG is overrated and lacks tools in his repertoire. I do think he beat Canelo comfortably.

    If a man sucks a **** once, he'll forever be a **** sucker.

But If a man is a welterweight once, he is not forever a welterweight. Alvarez was last seen below the welter limit, almost 8 years ago at about 19 years of age. His last fight prior to Golovkin was at 164.5, so he technically came down in weight to fight Golovkin. Canelo's highest recorded Fight Night Weight against Angulo is the same as Golovkin's highest recorded at 174.

Weight is not past or future tense, it is a present state. So I guess Mayweather vs Pacquiao really wasn't for the welterweight title. It was between a Straw Weight and Super Feather...good to know.

Kellerman is spot on, pretty much right on word for word.

Ward needs to **** off of course.

When you win world titles at multiple weights against other ATGs, no one can knock you (although they still will).

But when you dawdle about at one weight, and don't have your first big fight till you are 35, and still don't win... well... any reasonable person will say this casts big question marks on your legacy.

Almost every great world champion at MW has stepped up, or the very rare occasion they haven't, like Marvin Hagler, they've at least had great fights at their own weight.

The fact GGG hasn't, will leave a massive great big question mark hanging over his resume. Sad but true.
