Kellerman himself thinks he's even greater than you think he is LOL
Kellerman is nothing but a pompous egotistical know all that really knows NOTHING about the sport of boxing. How can he know what its like to eat leather the was Ortiz was. I'll bet in HS he played the triangle in the school band:yep:thumbsup

Exactly. Max maybe be annoying but like you said it's his job to ask those tough questions. Max is not the only one that say Ortiz quit cause mostly everyone here said the same thing.

Why the hell didn't he ask Ortiz if he could see out of that swollen eye?

He's a boxing commentator. WTF are you guys expecting him to say. I'd rather have someone who speaks his mind then a commentator who does nothing but ride the fence.

Where do you get the idea that Margarito-Cotto wasnt on the level??????????? You claim tpo KNOW it wasnt huh?? Please inform everyone how you know this along with proof to the fact ,or apologize and admit you were talking out of your rear end.
Cotto got his ass kicked fair & square by the better fighter on the night :thumbsup

Most boxers get pitiful paychecks. Look up Tony Booth, that is a warrior.

:goodI completely agree. It isn't just him, though, I can't stand how condescending Merchant is as well. HBO presenters are a joke- that's what I think from this side of the pond. I much sooner listen to someone respectful with a genuinme love of the sport like Al Bernstein. Also, if you've never seen this you may find it quite funny. Max Kellerman doesn't have many fans here in the UK- even amongst our presenters:

He didn't get his job thru nepotism, Max was a child prodigy and got on Letterman in his early teens because of his popular boxing radio show. And you're blaming him for Butler's actions?

    What an ******* you are...

He echoed my sentiments exactly. He knows a bum, in this case Max Kellerman, when he sees one.:good

Great quote from Max last night:

"in boxing to be great more is required of you than any other sport, more is required of you than is reasonable."

Well, *literally* he has the right to ask whatever he wants to ask obviously,. Just saying that it's easy to criticize someones heart when it's not you in there, you don't know exactly how hurt he was. Anyway I did say I didn't see anything particularly wrong with what he said. He wasn't quite criticizing him, more like telling him "what do you expect, it's boxing". Which is what I think too.

Ish, trust me mate, before the fight in the pre-fight build up Kellerman was the same as normal. He said something really stupid next to Steward ringside but I can't remember what he said- I remember laughing though. I'll look for a clip.

Kellerman is a punk who never boxed, never worked a corner, never was a boxing journalist, was never anything really - until his daddy's buddy Bill Cayton plucked him from obscurity and put him on ESPN. That's why he's the worst boxing commentator of all time.
