Max said Jones Jr would beat Louis, Marciano and Dempsey, shortly after Jr beat Ruiz.

Also claim if Robinson jump up to heavyweight, that Suger Ray would beat Marciano.
Max was on some heavy stuff.

I like Kellerman as a fan and somewhat as a commentator but he is terrible at after fight interviews and his comparisons between current fighters and past ones are outrageous.
He does have some of a younger Merchant in him.

"Post of the Month for 2009 Thus far".....Max Kellerman was called an "imbecile" by Lennox Lewis on a live broadcast, and thats exactly what he is. Why the **** ESPN replaced a Genius like Al Bernstein with an idiot like Kellerman is beyond me, and shows that ass kissing skills get you far in Corporate America. Give any average ESB poster 3 months with some Boxing Books, and they too can talk about obscure fights from 60 years ago, and make comments about how great Paul Williams is while Lennox rolls his eyes with the cameras running.

Kellerman is a joke. Do you want an example of how bad a nuthugger Kellerman is? Here are a few gems this idiot has spouted while on the air:

"Roy Jones would beat Joe Frazier"

"Zab Judah is Sweet Pea with power"

That tells me all I need to know about how clueless Max Kellerman is.

Kellerman needs a lot of seasoning. Brian Kenny carried his ass for years, and so far in Kellerman's HBO stint, it shows. I don't rule out though that with experience, he'll get better. Right now he's showing a ton of rough edges.

    The hard way? Please.

R, Andrew Lang's quote in the 19th century couldn't be more on-target about Max: 'He uses statistics as a drunken man uses lamp-posts... for support rather than illumination.'

I was telling my brother the other day it would be great if HBO fired Kellerman and replaced him with Brian Kenny who is light years better than that joke Kellerman will ever be.

    Only one drawback...

They'd have to keep Kellerman on payroll for any future PBF interviews.

I watch HBO Boxing on mute now..
maybe with a soundtrack blowing in the back, Kellerman's a cheap Merchant rip.

I like Max, but I think he's much better in the studio than he is ringside.

I'm beginning to like Max. He can like or hate whom ever he wants...we all do the same thing.

The best off the top of his head cooment was at the end of his interview with Marquez (P4P #1!) after his destruction of Diaz. Marquez said something about Pacman "not wanting to fight him" & Max ended the interview saying "who WOULD want to fight you?"

    Freakin' Brillant!!!

    (((GO MAX)));)

I dont find him charismatic at all. He's loud and damn annoying with his post fight questions and eyes way too open.
Merchant is a senile degenerate drunk jew, but he fits the Lampley team much better I believe :rasta
