Max Kellerman: From precocious boxing personality to the future of HBO boxing

I have a feeling that Kellerman eventually is going to be fired at HBO. Thomas Hauser had an excellent article a while back about the whole Merchant/Kellerman issue and he spoke with people that worked for HBO Boxing. They all pretty much said that Kellerman is an unqualified clown and that he could not carry Merchant's jock.

If the Boxing public keeps trashing him HBO will be forced to do someting eventually.

 

Well, that's good news, because it's pretty clear that the majority of boxing fans think he's as much of an unqualified joke as we do. There are so MANY better choices out there - AL Bernstein and Steve Farhood being the best!

 

Max is a horror show as an announcer and commentator. I love that he is a real boxing fan, and a cable access show or a podcast would be perfect for him.

But for him to be on HBO.........that's disgraceful.

I have seen is act as a wigger...um....very impressive.

 

Max gets a flunking grade in my book because the man is totally classless. Some poor guy gets the crap beat out of him and Max will actually stand right in front of him and insult him for getting beat up by a better fighter. Then, as if that's not bad enough, he will turn to the winner of the fight and insult him for 1. Beating someone with no talent or that presented no challenge, 2. Beating someone who in his opinion is well past their prime, 3. Not being able to get rid of the guy quick enough, 4. Not having fought someone who he wanted to see the guy fight, 5. In his opinion, not showing enough heart, 6. Fighting in a protective and conservative way to avoid getting countered, 8. Not having fought in America, 9. Not being raised in the hood, 10. Being a European fighter. Max fails, fails, fails, repeatedly and ad nausea in his interviews and assessments. He wants to be the hip hop version of Larry Merchant and falls flat on his face every time he tries. And finally, what's the deal with the yelling? The way he talks, you would think he wants to take an acting part from Samuel Jackson. You heard of Snakes on a Plane, with Max we could make Snakes in the Garden (Madison).

 

Kellerman is an unqualified and arrogant imbecile who likes to hear himself babble.I just can't stand the man and it is an insult to even compare him in any way to Merchant who is so superior and in an entirely different league.
Go away Max and let me enjoy HBO boxing broadcasts.

I like Max Kellerman's commentary ever since his days on ESPN. I'm glad he's now on HBO.

 

Man please..u crazy...He knows his $hit more than me or u...His job is to know his boxing....If your job was to know ur boxing I'm sure you'd know juss as much....YOU MAY NOT AGREE WITH HIS OPINIONS SOMETIMES BUT THAT DON'T MEAN HE DON'T KNOW HIS BOXING....

Than you say he gives horrible interviews after fights...MAX STIRS UP **** AND MAKES US FANS WANNA SEE DIFFERENT FIGHTS..

Anyone who disrespects the sport by saying Glass Jaw Roy Jones would beat a legit ATG like Joe Frazier is an idiot.

Kellerman is not as smart as you think he is and he has fooled a lot of people. Read Thomas Hauser's article about HBO and Kellerman and what people that work for HBO Boxing think about Kellerman. It is very telling.

Yeah I never understood the hate people have for Kellerman.

He knows his **** and seems like a genuine fan of the sport. I for one can't wait for the day they put that disrespectful Merchant out to pasture and replace him full time with Kellerman.:good

 

newbie i know more than yo lil a$$ ...i got dvd's of carrers for sale..over 250..u wanna buy n school ya self..again-its stupid to say max knows very little cuz in reality it's his job to know boxing...
