I think Juan Manuel Marquez would have done the exact same thing Barrera did. It's true, Hamed hit hard but even before he stepped up in class, he was being tagged and knocked down himself. People sometimes overlook just how vunerable prime Naseem was, and there were issues in his performances even before Ingle was out. Juan Manuel Marquez was a better counterpuncher than Barrera, and that's the strategy Barrera used to beat Hamed. I see Marquez doing the same, and knocking Naseem down a few times himself.

I couldn't call a winner between Morales and Marquez. Morales was a far greater fighter than Hamed ever was.

I think they could beat each other in regards to Morales and Marquez. You were on point about Hamed, and I forgot about his shaky chin. But Steward said they avoided Marquez on purpose.

Also Marquez has more skill than Morales and Barrera imo, but he would always be in there shawdows, which is a shame. But all three are great

Yes, if we assume on something everythng will be different!

If for instance.. Mab beat Pac, Hatton beat PBF,....etc etc....

It's going to be a WHOLE NEW WORLD BABY!!!

In FACT if we assume that fighter a beats fighter b. We might have a new set of top p4p!

Now, I'll GIVE you something to smile about.. assuming JMM beat the trio of MAB, MORALES and JMM and did not lose to C JOHN he would have been the best p4p today and will be 5 to 10x richer than he is right NOW! :D

If you call that Prime so be it! I don't have to agrue on everything people say!

I rarely agree with Max Kellerman, but I agree with him 100% with respect to JMM. But any fight that goes to the cards is debatable, and certainly Pacquiao is a great fighter in his own right. Bottom line: JMM is one of the absolute best fighters out there today, and for my money could have held his own in any era. The guy is brilliant and sadly was denied the appreciation he's deserved for a long time. I hope everyone can at least agree on that.

Agree, he does hit harder than Pac.

But I'm not confident on how either fight goes really. Perhaps Hamed tags him and puts him out, perhaps Marquez counters him all night. I must say, if the fight happened around the time of the Norwood fight, I'd probably favour Hamed. Norwood was not as good as Hamed and Marquez did struggle with him and even got dropped (what else is new?).

Morales-Marguez would be a close fight no matter what but I'm not sure who comes out on top. Prime for prime I might lean slightly towards Morales but it's no sure thing.

oh no no no.... Pac CLEARLY won at least one round of that fight, therefore it is only right and proper that he be given the decision.

Marquez is one of the special fighters of this generation, a real great fighter with great skills. I scored both fights with Pacquiao for Pacquiao but also scored both by ONE point difference, so it wasn't an easy win for Pacquiao and no matter how many times they fight it will always be difficult. The first fight was supposed to be a win for Pacquiao since the female judge that scored the first round 10-7 instead of 10-6 like the rest of the judges is what made this fight a draw, she admitted after the fight that she made a mistake but then again there are no room for mistakes when scoring a major fight like that.

I'm waiting to see how he does against Casamayor, picking Casamayor here because he's also a true great of this era and is very underrated. Now that's a DREAM fight for me coming to happen very soon.

The way Marquez will be looked at in the future, in my opinion, is a great fighter who wanted to fight all and a fighter who's skills can't be denied, a very underrated one too. I have this feeling that he will be as underrated as Aaron Pryor in the long run, he will be remembered as a great fighter who was avoided by many and that might hurt his popularity in the long-run but still a great fighter and as he's active it's very early to judge, as long as he keeps those wins rolling he can change all of that later.

Please note that I'm NOT in ANY way comparing his boxing style or ability as a whole to Aaron Pryor, just a comparison in terms of popularity among boxing discussions as years go by after he's retired and done with, NOT a comparison of boxing ability and skills.

I respect your opinion. Lets just say, I have a diffrent opinion.
I'll based it on something tangible.

Pac made JMM kissed the canvass 4x
JMM made Pac Kiss the canvass - STILL A DREAM as of writing

KO percentage is higher for PAC than JMM! I don't know the exact figure but I'm pretty sure Pac is higer. Kindly correct me if I'm wrong on the %.

One commen boxer they faced. Mab

Mab was forced to kneel due to PAC's punch.
Mab NEVER kneeled when he fought JMM

Pac lost to morales on their first fight
PAC vs Morales 2 and 3 showed how POWERFUL the punches of PAC are. Yes, JMM is technically gifted but which fight does JMM have to show he has a very POWERFUL PUNCH like PAc?

With those two tangibles, IMO Pac hits harder than JMM.
