Damn, I jsut think those two in Pac and JMM bring the best out of each other. It was 4 years after the first fight and they still put on a great show. Now how many fighters can do that. JMM is also not getting any younger. Thats why he is special to me. Pac is also a special fighter think if he beats Hoya, Hatton, and the champ at 135. That is crazy to imagine

    JMM SCHOOLED PAC 11-1 rounds!!
Ha just kidding both fights were very close and yes i was heartbroken when they announced JMM the loser. My scorecard was much closer with JMM on top. I believe i had JMM by 1 or 2 points not sure.

By the way who said they had it 11-2??? I only remember 12 rounds...

I wasnt too sure picking JMM in the second fight since you know he has just been getting older and Pac was just coming into his physical prime.
That performance JMM put out there that night was great. And people who talk about his chin are very stupid. If he had no chin he would have never gotten up from those KDs. His legs may be a little soft but his chin is good and so is his recovery time.

The tread is open again, so it should be on the forum page :good Just take it for what it's worth, I'm just glad I got that experience to talk to someone in the boxing game. My dream is to be a promoter

I hate talking about chins for some reason, but some fighters do better after a kd like Tito. He was like a raging bull in there

Whats the thread title??? I also wish I could get involved in boxing somehow. Being an announcer would be the best job. Watching the fights ringside.... WOW!

I saw JMM lose 3 times

    John and Pac twice

Both times he lost to Pac, I had him losing by 1 point only

There is nothing wrong with that. He was in some close fights, but no robberies at all

Poor us. I especially hate it since I have 3 BIG exams happening this week, plus I have to hand in a couple of research homeworks in 2 days!! *sigh*

Makes you appreciate fighters like Juan Diaz more for going through a lot worse by actually going to school and having a professional boxing career AT THE SAME TIME.

I wish I had his resolve.

The reason why JMM is less regarded than MAB and EM is not because he is less skilled than the two but rather because of the degree of opposition he has faced. While MAB and EM were having trilogy, JMM was fighting the likes of Salido, Polo, Jandaeng when he could have faced more credible contenders. Its not necessarily be the two great mexicans because there were lot of fighters who are class B.

Another reason probably because that counterpunching style is boring to watch except to those who love the sweet science. Even competition with lightyears in terms of skillset could survive the whole 12 rounds because of that style. He was supposed to blow out mismatched opponent like Jaca and salido.

JMM has the best skillset among the current fighter probably active today. Unfortunately it is not a fan-friendly one in contrast to EM or even MAB. MAB lost via KO even prior to Pac yet his legacy is already assured, while JMM has yet to lose in a devastating way (and some would say never lost a fight) and people are still not sure how they are going to write his legacy 10-20 years from now!! That tells a lot.
